Welcome back to the kitchen table. In 2 Corinthians 4, we see a beautiful truth: God is the one who brings light into the darkness. He shines His light into our hearts, filling us with His presence and truth. As parents, we are called to pray that same light for our children—to be prayer warriors who lift them up to God.
When we pray, we’re not just speaking words; we’re asking God to turn on a light in their hearts that reveals His love and redemption. We pray His words over them, inviting His presence to guide and shape their lives.
Every day, we have this calling. May we pray with purpose, asking God to shine His light into our children’s hearts and show them the depth of His love and grace.

Welcome back to the kitchen table. How often do we pause to see Jesus in the dinnertime hour? While we're chopping vegetables, setting plates, or clearing the clutter from the table, God calls us to a quiet invitation—just like Psalm 23:5 says.
In the middle of life's noise, God doesn’t ask us to charge into battle or solve every problem. Instead, he prepares a table for us right there, offering peace and he simply says, “come and sit with me.”
As you set the table for your families tonight, let’s remember that God has already prepared a place for us at his table. He sees our needs and fills our empty places. If you’re weary or feeling defeated, take a moment, read Psalm 23, and ask God to show you his table. He’s there to satisfy your soul.

Welcome back to the kitchen table. Helping our children with laundry and getting them dressed is a daily ritual, often filled with the same simple motions—helping them put on new clothes, changing out of the old, and making sure they’re ready for the day. What seems like a small task can actually reveal something powerful about the gospel and how God interacts with us.
Each moment we help our children get dressed can serve as a small reminder of this spiritual renewal. Just as we care for them in practical ways, God cares for us, clothing us in his love and teaching us to walk in his ways.
By finding God in these small, everyday routines, we allow his presence to shape not only our children but our own hearts. Through the simple task of dressing them, we can be reminded of the gospel’s renewing power—making each day a fresh start.

Welcome back to the kitchen table. Much like the constant need for diaper changes and the patience of potty training, our lives as Christians reflect a repeated need to come back to God for cleansing. Just as children frequently need help as they grow, we also find ourselves returning to God, in need of his grace again and again.
1 John 1:9 reminds us, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us… and to cleanse us.” Just like a parent isn’t angry every time they have to clean up their child, God isn’t frustrated with us. He’s glad we come back to Him.
Romans 7 highlights our struggle, as we often fall short despite our intentions. Yet, there’s no shame in seeking God’s cleansing again. Each time, he welcomes us with open arms.
In these moments, we’re reminded that God’s love and patience are never-ending. Each time we ask for help, it’s a moment of worship, knowing he’s always ready to make us clean again.

Welcome back to the kitchen table. A pacifier may seem like just a small comfort item, but it actually holds a beautiful lesson about the gospel. When our little ones reach for it, they’re showing a need for comfort, much like our own need for God’s presence in times when we need comfort.
2 Corinthians 1:3-4 reminds us that God is the "Father of all comfort" who is present in our afflictions, offering us peace when we feel alone or overwhelmed.
As we respond to our child’s need for comfort—offering a hug, a gentle word, or a pacifier—we’re reflecting God’s love to them. They begin to see that, just as they can rely on us, we can all rely on God in our struggles.
Each time we bring them comfort, we’re not only meeting a physical need; we’re providing a glimpse of God’s nature, teaching them to trust and extend that same compassion to others. In those small moments, they’re experiencing the gospel firsthand.

Welcome back to the kitchen table. When life feels overwhelming and you’re running on empty, it’s easy to think peace will only come when the chaos quiets down. But Jesus offers rest right in the middle of it.
In Matthew 11:28-30, He says, “Come to me, all you who are weary, and I will give you rest.” He’s not promising an escape from life’s pressures or a perfectly calm life. Instead, he invites you to hand over your burdens and find a deeper rest that sustains you through the chaos.
It’s about surrender—giving him the overwhelm and letting him carry what you can’t.

Welcome back to the kitchen table. When you’re constantly separating your kids as they bicker and fight, it can feel like you’re stuck in the role of referee, always stepping in to calm the chaos. It’s exhausting, and in those moments, it’s easy to lose sight of the bigger picture.
Jesus dealt with squabbles too. He didn’t ignore them or lose his cool. Instead, he redirected people with patience and encouragement. In Luke 9, he shows us how to respond with grace, while Ephesians 4:1-3 reminds us to walk in humility, gentleness, and love, even when tensions rise.
When your home feels like a battlefield, take a breath. Sit with Jesus and ask, "How do I lead my kids through this in a way that reflects You?" You don’t have to have all the answers, and you’re not called to be perfect. You're simply called to surrender the situation to him.
But before stepping into the chaos, take a moment to find your grounding in Christ. Ask the Holy Spirit to show you how to lead with love, and allow time in his presence to fill you up.
It’s in that quiet, soaking time that he equips us to handle the hard moments with grace.

Welcome back to the kitchen table. Do you ever feel overwhelmed and on edge, like your reactions set off a chain of frustration that you wish you could stop? At the end of the day, it leaves you filled with regret, wondering why you couldn’t just snap out of it. What you might really need is some quiet time with the Lord.
Think back to when you had a little baby—precious, helpless, and restless until their needs were met. Like that baby, we need to be filled. But what we’re seeking for satisfaction often comes from the wrong sources—work, accomplishments, or designing a "perfect" life. The truth is, none of these will satisfy us.
When we take time to sit in his word, his love overflows from us and touches everyone around us. True satisfaction comes only from Jesus, and we were designed to be filled by him. Seek him, and watch how it changes everything.

Welcome back to the kitchen table. As moms, we often feel the weight of the world on our shoulders, believing we need to be in control and have everything figured out. Sometimes, we see that same desire reflected in our kids—they want to be independent, handling things themselves, from getting dressed to buckling their car seats. Even when they don’t quite have it under control, they want to.
Just like them, we sometimes believe we need to have it all under control, forgetting that we’re not meant to.
1 Peter 5:7 tells us to cast our anxieties on him because he cares for us. God doesn’t call us to handle it all, but to trust in his plan. He’s actively engaged in our lives, caring for us deeply. This is the heartbeat of God. We can rely on him, casting our worries and burdens, knowing he’s working with us and for us. We don’t have to do it all alone.

Welcome back to the kitchen table. Colossians 3:2 calls us to set our minds on things above, which can be tough during seasons of worry. You might wonder if things will improve or if God is truly paying attention to your struggles. It’s easy to feel like you’re messing it all up and hang your head in despair.
Yet, God’s heart remains steadfast. In John 13:1, we’re reminded that he loves us to the end. No matter what you’re facing, God is right there with you, caring for you through every trial.
When you feel overwhelmed, don’t let anxiety unravel your soul. Fear and doubt may capture your thoughts, but remember that the Word of God resets us.
In those everyday moments, look for Jesus. He is there, reminding you that hope exists even amid worry. Hold tight to the truth that God loves you deeply and is always by your side.
