The What Podcast is back -- and it comes with demands for Bonnaroo 2023!

After taking a few weeks off after this year's Bonnaroo, Brad, Barry, and Lord Taco are back and ready to look forward to next year's event. Brad has some booking must-haves on his list, including Rage Against the Machine (after seeing their recent Madison Square Garden run), The Wild Hearts (Sharon Van Etten, Angel Olsen, and Julien Baker), and a Cee-Lo Green James Brown tribute SuperJam.

Elsewhere, The What Crew discuss the changes to and reduction of the festival landscape they've witnessed during 2022, and we learn Brad and Barry are not gamers as they discuss Lord Taco's Twitch channel.

The What Podcast wraps up their three-part interview series from Bonnaroo 2022 with The Backseat Lovers.

The Utah indie outfit joined Barry and Lord Taco immediately following their This Tent set on Saturday. Though their set had been delayed because of technical difficulties, The Backseat Lovers hit the stage with a fury and easily won the crowd over.

While down at Bonnaroo this year, The What Podcast hosts Barry and Lord Taco got to speak with Briston Maroney for what is technically the Knoxville artist's third time on the show.

Following his That Tent show on Friday, Maroney spoke about what it means to be playing Bonnaroo -- especially as his father was in the audience this year for the Father's Day weekend set. He also touched on "that guy" in high school who always came back from The Farm wearing his wristbands until it fell off and the tan lines that remained like a badge of honor.

Superfly was just over five years old when co-founder Rick Farman and three of his former college buddies and fellow co-founders decided to create what became Bonnaroo. Farman joins Brad, Barry and Lord Taco of The What Podcast to talk about why they wanted to do it, and why they thought it might work.

In addition to discussing the history -- and future -- of Bonnaroo and other Superfly events, Farman digs into their newest venture: Superf3st. A Web3 community-based experiment, Superf3st aims to build an event from the community up, giving members a chance to make decisions and influence the direction of the festivals itself.
