This week in honor of mental health month, we are re-releasing the highlights from our Science of Happiness episode with Dr. Catherine Sanderson. This episode is packed with the tools and hacks to create happiness - whether you are someone who is predisposed to be happy, or whether you’re someone that’s not. According to the research, half of our tendency toward happiness is genetically predisposed, but we have control over what we do with the other half.

Dr. Sanderson is the author of The Positive Shift: Mastering Mindset To Improve Happiness. She is the Chair of Psychology at Amherst College, she was named one of the best professors in America by the Princeton Review and has been featured in publications such as The Atlantic, The Washington Post, CBS, and NBC.

This week we’re talking about emotions and how even though as a society we’ve gotten a lot better at expressing our emotions, we’re still not great at it. Emotions like anger, sadness are often frowned upon and can be discounted as us being dramatic or unhappy when in reality that’s just not true. Humans experience such a wide range of emotions and we’re actually not supposed to feel good all of the time.

How do we stop caring about what people think? Is that always the goal? On this episode, we're exploring this topic.

We recently had the opportunity to consider: could the same tools and tactics used for sales and persuasion possibly apply to our own internal lives and self-worth? Turns out the answer is yes. We invited sales leader Jen Wolosoff onto the podcast this week for a different kind of conversation than you're used to, prompted by our own recent experiences - where we explore how business and conscious persuasion tactics can be applied to our own internal lives - to help us navigate any relationship in a way standing in our highest self worth - and without the anxiety.

This week we're talking to Laura Peppin, who’s an Energy Work Practitioner + Founder of Blueprint Wellness Energy Work. She uses a method called Source Point Therapy, which is based on the premise that our personal fields exist within a larger matrix that offers us the universal blueprint for health. This blueprint contains information on the order, balance, harmony, and flow necessary to sustain life and health. We get into this more in the episode.

She works with clients far to hold a space for their healing. We found her through Goop where she’s been featured and recommended for her distance healing sessions. Her energy will come through in this episode - both of us felt a complete calming shift and she’s a true example of a healer who truly practices what she preaches.

She is also the founder of HappiSoul, providing EFT resources to all.

This week we’re talking about confidence - this is something that has come up quite a bit recently in the community and we’ve experienced challenges in this area ourselves. We’re talking about why as humans we struggle with confidence, how it tends to show up more in women versus men, and our stories on the types of situations it presents itself in. Confidence is actually a skill that can be learned so if you feel like you want more of it you can have it! It just takes a little practice.
