Acts 1:1-11, 18, 21-26; 2 Timothy 1:7; Galatians 5:22-23; Matthew 27:5-8.
In the first chapter of Acts, Jesus instructs the disciples to stay in Jerusalem until they receive the power of the Holy Spirit. This power will help them live better lives, allowing Him to guide them and be the messenger of this power to other parts of Israel and throughout the world.
Jesus wants us to know that the Holy Spirit is not timid but will give us power, love, and a sound mind or discipline. When we live according to the Spirit of God, we demonstrate this power, which produces a fruit full of all good things, such as love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. This is the Spirit we have abiding in us when we receive Jesus.
Today, I encourage you to live by the Spirit, and He "will guide you into all truth," as Jesus said in John 16:13. This truth is that Jesus is the only man who has been resurrected by the power of the Holy Spirit, which is the same power we receive (Romans 8:11) when we accept Jesus as Lord and Savior and will resurrect our lives when He comes. He loves you and wants to guide your life to the best possible way of living.
