This is a question I get asked so often, I wanted to record a podcast on it and “Pull Back The Curtain” to talk about a topic that can often be a sensitive one.
I brought in one of my best friends @rikki__g for this podcast, because like me she also is coparenting her two kids with her ex husband.
We go over:
-How the first year is always the roughest, but that it can get better
-What kinds of questions to ask your attorney when you are going through the divorce process
-How it’s important to make it about the kids first, and put aside your hurt feelings and anger when it comes to parenting your kids
-How a new wife/husband coming into the picture can actually help improve your relationship
-How to handle jealousy with your ex
-The phrase “out of your control, bro”
-How to set aside control issues you might have around the way the kids are being parented at the other home
-And so much more!
I’d love to start a conversation in the comments on this topic! If you have gone through a divorce, what is your #1 tip you would give a friend in a similar spot to help improve their coparenting relationship with their ex?
So much love,
Natalie
