Today we break down 22.2, how this workout shaped up for my personal skillset, how it relates to the first week's workout, where this left me on the leaderboard, and our thoughts as we head into the final week!
Today we completely recap the first open workout of the 2022 CrossFit Games season. We talk about the live announcement in Denver, the top elite athletes and what kind of performances were best in the world, how this workout shaped up for what kind of athlete I am, Where I actually finished in the world, US, and Iowa, and what all of that means moving forward.
On todays episode I really just ramble on about my expectations for myself as we are 1 day out from the 2022 CrossFit Open starting. I bring you guys up to speed on my latest week of modified training and the where/what/who details of how my Open workouts will go down. We define where I want to place both in the world and in the USA for the men division.
On todays episode I explain a little more detail about what the CrossFit Open actually looks like. As I have shared more and more about my training and my goals, Its helpful to break down further what the actual first stage of competition entails. We talk a little bit about what the following weeks may feature on the podcast, a small bit about my career outlook in the sport of CrossFit in general, and then we finish by discussing the speed bumps I have recently encountered as the first week draws near.
A twitter interaction left me pondering my own insecurities, how easy social media can trigger you for no reason, how you can get sucked into thinking you 'know' someone, and talking about why we are not all the same.
Some thoughts on when you arent motivated, and every fiber says "just take it easy".. and then a weird dream that brought closure.
Today we discuss how staying patient, even when results seem non apparent and lacking, will help you win long term. The reasons to keep going, keep working hard, keep pushing, even when it seems like the effort isn't worth it or wont yield results. And most importantly the hard truth about why quitting isn't really an option in the first place.
We discuss the mindset of motivation vs inspiration and why that matters, how it will affect your consistency and routine, how it applies to 30 day challenges vs living life long term, and being real with yourself when it comes to matching behavior with real goals.
I talk about what lies ahead in the new year for the Snapped podcast. What I am excited for, and what the episodes coming will be focused on.
