Today we talk all about how I recover from the intense training I put myself through on a daily basis. What tools I use to help stay healthy and ready for the next session, and how I break Recovery down into 3 smaller sections.
Today we break down what my day to day workouts look like. How my weeks are structured, what kinds of exercise sessions are happening in the morning session vs the afternoon session. I also offer plenty of boring insight into the 'Why' behind each days structure, and some thoughts on how to think about training relative to your goals.
Today we are back from vacation and give a rundown on what life looks like as of the last few weeks, and we discuss 'Just showing up' which is a concept that in busy, hectic times allows me to hold a standard of productivity and discipline without getting burnt out.
I leave for beautiful San Diego the day after recording this episode which makes the topic of maintaining fitness and diet very relevant. How will I do it if at all? What is my approach to eating on vacation, and what changes from my normal routine at home. My mindset on working out while away on a trip and how that factors in to your goals and aspirations.
Today I go into full detail about my current diet and some reason behind why it is structured like it is. How many calories am I eating a day, how is that supporting my fitness output? How many times a day do I eat, what foods do those meals consist of, how do I build those meals, how do I work in cheat days or cheat meals, And what/when am I taking supplement wise, and why?
Today I give an update on my training and how I have been feeling physically the last couple weeks in spite of the mysterious knee issue that lingers. We talk about an old concept about who you surround yourself with, and I pose the thought that your social media feed factors into that as well, AND that you can use it to your advantage. I also made some purchases in the last couple of days that are helping me to fully outfit my garage gym.
I got invited to speak in front of a group of people. I don't feel like I have the most to offer, and have been pondering what could I possibly say to someone, or a group of someones to help add value to their life or bring them new perspective, and in this episode I go into what I landed on for that speaking appearance. The idea that there should be no plan B, no outs to give yourself on the primary path because of what it will do to your discipline and dedication to plan A
A week in review AND preview, and a soapbox monologue on being the person who people negatively connotate as 'that guy', displaying discipline when there is every excuse not to, because no one is coming to save you.
Today we go event by event and recap my first official CrossFit competition from this past weekend. We talk about how I approached the weekend mentally, from a competitive stand point, strategy, how we took the top spot, and what I learned for moving forward.
I am competing in my first CrossFit competition this weekend. Outside of the Main series Crossfit Open and Quarterfinals which are online, complete on your own time events, this will be the first time I have competed with other teams alongside me and my partner Cole Fisher. I also talk about my approach to making my daily life as easy and happiness focused as possible, and I make a big announcement about my family!
