This specific podcast, one that has now reached over 100 episodes, started in Early 2020 just before the Covid Pandemic started. Listeners have followed my personal competitive fitness journey, the Pint Life series, and my thoughts on all things fitness/diet/and health for a full 2 years. Not a single episode has featured a guest, which has left me to talk to myself this whole time, and in that I have learned several things. Here we break down those learnings.
After a crazy 2 months, we enter the year with our original training goals being dashed, and the lull in top level training leaving me far to 'not fit' to try and make CrossFit Semifinals.. so where do we go from here? An update on how I am feeling, how much I really got set back in 2 months time, and what my goals are now as we sit 36 days from the CrossFit Open.
Today we look back on where life has taken us in the last 365 days. What new opportunities have come to light, the new business ventures have taken place, and how we have evolved in entrepreneurship by running 2 different businesses. An update and overview on my personal fitness and training goals as we turn to 2023, and enter fatherhood as a massive step up in personal development.
Today we discuss some stone cold facts and statistics related to our behavior and routine habits around the holiday season and some great tips for what we can do to stay on track and feel great while still enjoying the time off with family.
This will be the last episode that comes out before I officially become a father. I talk about my excitement and thoughts as the day draws near, and the things I am most looking forward too.
Today we talk about the upcoming rush of New Years Resolutions, and why sadly most of them will fail. What is the strategy to ensure that you can stick to the goals and plans that you set? And better yet, How can you get ahead of your peers.
A life update. Struggle, mental fatigue, lack of motivation, lack of barbell. A glimpse into my current 3 week life skid.
After a forced, self mandated, 7 day break from my CrossFit training to give my body a rest, I come away with many thoughts on why it was good, why it was a challenge, and why it may be beneficial for others to do the same.
After several weeks of my body not cooperating with me, struggling to churn out any 'good' training days, having to manage pain and warmup for significantly longer time frames, and a list of other challenges, I am being forced to take a step back. Sometimes we have to take 1 step backwards to allow the steps forward to continue to be there in the future. I talk about the grind the last 3 weeks have been, and what I am doing over the next week to rest and reset.
A client had a troubling mental obstacle this past weekend, he couldn't tell himself no. Even in the face of reality, holding snacks he knew he should not be eating, he chose to anyway. So he came to me and asked.. Why.. Why could I not abstain from giving in to the junk food. We answer how to consistently exemplify that discipline in this episode.
