I also dive into the numbers, my updated placing on the leaderboard, and where I sit relative to hitting my Pre-Open goals!
Disclaimer: This is very numbers based.. we are DEEP in the weeds of analyzing my placings for this workout.. I am only entertaining myself.
25 minutes of me rambling about where I placed in the first Crossfit Open workout of 2023.. relative to the world, the state, the country.. and so forth. How those numbers compare to last years placings.. some Crossfit Open history, and all other thoughts on the start of this season.
This begins a 6 week stretch where our episodes will focus heavily on my personal competitive performances within the Crossfit world. We start by explaining a bit how the first 2 phases of the comps work, talking about my journey into treating myself as a legit CrossFit athlete, discussing some of the setbacks I have had, and laying out goals for this Crossfit Open.
Today starts with an episode topic in mind, but some monologue thoughts reroute the podcast and take us into some philosophical thought about the mindset of getting better. Learning to open our eyes to growth opportunity with everything that touches our lives, and being willing to know that you can always be better.
Today we discuss how to mesh new health behaviors into the existing life that you already live. Often times when we decide to make a change in our diet or exercise it's met with resistance from those around us. And while that resistance is based on insecurities of the other person, the social pressure to give in on drinks or dessert doesn't help us in our pursuit to find consistency. Today we talk about how to break through that peer pressure and communicate the importance of health to those around you.
Today we discuss the topic of Deep Work. What is it, Why should we use it, and what problems from our current day to day work life does it solve. Tricks on how to schedule it, and how to use it as infrastructure to your days. And how to maximize the time between the Deep Work sessions to bring fulfillment into your life.
