One of the worst decisions I made early on in my business?

Following this advice from a well-respected marketing guru:

"Don't hire anyone. Employees will make your life hell."

I trusted this person, so listening to them felt like the smart play.

And while it did keep things simple in some respects, it also kept my business small – and way more stressful than it needed to be.

When I eventually figured out that this was terrible advice (which took way longer than I'd like to admit), my business skyrocketed… and I started having a lot more fun in it too.

Of course, there's more nuance to this than just "hire a bunch of people."
