Back in the summer of 2020, Jimbo and co passed the time reviewing classic Premier League and Champions League campaigns.
Here from the vault, we bring you the thoughts of James Horncastle, Raphael Honigstein and Duncan Alexander on the 1996/97 Champions League season, the last one with only champions in it
It was also the last time that Juventus were defending champions and the only time Borussia Dortmund went all the way and won the trophy in Munich. It was a good year to be a German football fan.
Auxerre were French champions, Milinko Pantic was top scorer and Roy Hodgson made Javier Zanetti lose his cool. It was a different era.
Produced by Charlie Jones.
RUNNING ORDER:
• PART 1a: Guy Roux's Auxerre (02.30)
• PART 1b: Top scorer Milinko Pantic (04.45)
• PART 1c: Man United struggle but reach the semis (06.00)
• PART 1d: Milan's worst ever Champions League performance (08.00)
• PART 2a: Dortmund going all the way to meet Juventus in the final (12.00)
