Transforming Self-Talk and Shame: A Journey to Self-Acceptance with Faith

Listen Later

Explore the emotional and psychological impact of negative self-talk and shame, especially in individuals with ADHD. Host Megs and guest Faith Hoskins discuss the common internalization of negative labels from a young age and how this shapes one's identity and self-esteem. They delve into the concept of neuroplasticity and how understanding and reprogramming our brain's response to these ingrained beliefs can lead to a more empowered and fulfilled life. Faith introduces the idea of shame resilience, emphasizing the importance of differentiating between one's behavior and identity to mitigate self-criticism and enhance self-acceptance. The conversation also covers practical strategies for transforming self-talk and the generational impact of changing one's narrative. They share challenges with traditional learning and the benefits of finding personalized strategies that align with one's unique brain processing style. Faith offers insights into the neuroplasticity coaching approach, aiming to help women especially, to live their fullest lives by understanding and adapting to their brain's workings.

Faith Hoskins, founder of Further Up Coaching, is a change and neuroplasticity coach that helps women rewire their brain so they can navigate change faster, easier, and with less pain.
