Today Jan is joined by Daisy who is here to share her story of abuse and how she's transformed it into a cause. Daisy's story is one of being abused by those she should have been able to trust only to have that security ripped away at the age of 12, then have to endure the torture after pictures were circulated around school, and finally how she has decided to stand up and tell her story, and has reached out to other survivors to share their stories in her book-in-progress "The 97%".
If you would like to submit a story or poem for Daisy's book contact her through her email: [email protected]
Note: Apologies for some of the audio, we did what we could.

Today Jan is joined again by JamieLynn, a speaker who has been on stage at DEBx to discuss thriving after sexual abuse as well as the organizer for the Breakthrough and Thrive Summit, for part 2 of her journey. For the more solution based half of this podcast JamieLynn goes into what tools she intuited about healing, how finding out about the lexicon around spirituality and self-help gave her voice the language to speak out, and how needing someone around to care about her wasn't just optional, but necessary for her healing.

Today Jan is joined by her sister Karen and friend of the show and Trauma-Informed Interview expert Dave Markel to hash out some of the science behind implicit memory, which does not require the conscious recollection of past events or information, and explicit memory, long-term memory that's concerned with recollection of facts and events, and how Trauma-Informed Interviewing can shift implicit memories to explicit. And just to prove the point there's a real time example of how it works with Jan and Karen.

Our PurposeΒ
Trauma Interrupted with Jan Broberg exists to change the way trauma is understood, discussed, and healed. It is the primary public-facing voice of theβ¦
Β
Why It Matters?Β
Trauma narratives are often fragmented, sensationalized, or oversimplified. Survivors are either ignored or reduced to their worst moments. Trauma Interrupted reframes trauma as a human experience, not an identity, and recovery as a collective responsibility, not an individual burden.Β
The podcast is not just storytelling, it is movement-building media.Β
