We spoke about Dr. Kim’s personal healing and academic journey from a pharmacist, the death of her parents, raising her son as a single mom, then deciding to study Traditional Chinese Medicine, getting a PhD in medical nutrition, being internationally certified in Iridology, becoming a Reiki master and finally becoming a Naturopathic Doctor where she experienced first signs of menopause in her last year of studies and have found a way to help herself and other people going through similar experiences with menopause. We then delve deep into the experience of PMS for someone who experienced trauma and sex trauma. Lastly, she gave us 5 helpful tips on how she manages PMS and what you can do for your PMS.

In today’s episode, I spoke with Quebec born Buddhist Monk Jason Simard. 

We talked about how he discovered Buddhism at an early age when he realized that what he wanted most in life was to be happy and that he could not get that through external sources. He explains the origins of Buddhism from Sidhartha Gautama and how it became to be what it is today. He talked about how practices from Buddhism like meditation, loving kindness, compassion can be used and cultivated by anyone even if they do not identify as a Buddhist. He also explained the Buddhist concept of happiness and how this is different from western views of happiness. He answered questions about finding happiness even if you’ve had sexual trauma and other traumas and how to go about doing this. Lastly, we went over the next steps on how to find happiness, through meditation, loving kindness and compassion.

In this episode, we bring in weight release expert Andrew Hanoun to talk about his highly successful weight release program which he calls the Andrew Hanoun method. He shares with us his story of his  struggles of weight release since childhood and how this ultimately led to him wanting to help people who are struggling with their weight and body image. We talked about fear and the mindset change necessary to face our adversities and limiting beliefs. Andrew also  discussed the serendipitous moments of being open and curious to what life is communicating to you and this is how he ultimately founded the Andrew Hanoun method. We spoke about how trauma  affects our emotional, physical, mental body.
