This week we make our way back to Poona on the Fraser Coast before heading to the Gold Coast for Christmas. Paul ventures out to get some new 4x4 gear so that we can adventure off road on Rainbow Beach to see the spectacular Coloured Sands! Located at the southern gateway to the World Heritage listed Fraser Island this spectacular coastline is naturally breathtaking. And, Katie gives the caravan a cleanse in preparation for our first Christmas in Orange.

This episode we start our adventure with a Farm Stay at Splitters Farm before enjoying a few nights stay in the beautifully created Mango Lodge located within the grounds of the Fraser Coast RV Park at River Heads, Hervey Bay. We re-visit our friends at Whalesong Cruises and enjoy a half day 'Beach & BBQ' experience venturing over to the World Heritage listed Fraser Island for what can only be described as the perfect day!

It is very tight living in 17m2 but we make it work and are thankful for our experience every day! This episode we spend an enchanted evening at Mon Repos Turtle Centre learning about the conservation and research toward helping protect and save the marine turtle species, before venturing out to Lady Musgrave Island, a World Heritage listed coral cay in the Southern Great Barrier Reef.

This week we start to explore the Bundaberg region and set up camp in the sleepy seaside village of Burnett Heads. Bundaberg is famous for Ginger Beer and we all enjoy a magical experience at The Barrel, tasting their 19 different flavours and learning how it all comes together during their self-guided factory tour. Next we visit Hinkler Hall of Aviation to experience a wonderful tribute to Bert Hinkler, one of Australia's most famous aviation pioneers. And Katie gets us ready for summer with some delicious mango recipes!

This episode we are confronted with the real dangers of bush fire and are reminded that we need to have a Fire Plan in place. We leave the Capricorn Coast and head south to the Gladstone region where we enjoy the East Shores recreational park, a harbour tour aboard Curtis Ferries and immerse ourselves with a nature fix at the Tondoon Botanic Gardens. Next we head to Agnes Water and the town of 1770 to experience some adventure on board the famous LARC Tours. We marvel at the dedication and incredible work of the Horizons Kangaroo Sanctuary before breathing in the fresh air at the Paperbark Forest Walk.

This episode we set up camp at the Lake Maraboon Holiday Village, 17km outside of Emerald in Queensland. We enjoy the wonderful view and majestic sunsets over Lake Maraboon/Fairbairn Dam and marvel at the size of what is Queensland second largest dam! We make new friends that teach us how to catch the famous crayfish 'The Red Claw', and create our very own signature dish... the Maraboon Burger! To top it all off we have success fossicking for Sapphires and are blown away during our tour of the Southern Hemisphere's largest Sapphire mine at The Miners Heritage Mine. This episode we arrive at the spectacular Carnarvon Gorge National Park in Queensland. From the towering sandstone cliffs to the breath-taking scenery, we can’t wait to plan our next trip. We carry Jasper on our backpack for 24kms of hiking and visit the unrivalled Indigenous Art Gallery, are completely WOW’d at Ward’s Canyon, climb the stair case to the majestic Amphitheatre, and breathe in the wonder of the Moss Garden. Our camping site for the week is at the naturally beautiful Takarakka Camp ground and we saw our first Platypus in the wild… we didn’t want to leave!
