Russell has always loved entrepreneurship which was right up there with his love for sports. His mindset was always different than a lot of his peers, even in his college days. Although he was an athlete, he was always looking for ways to level up financially and create alternate revenue streams. After getting Into the league Russell started his journey in transportation his own dump truck company. Still focused on football he could not be as hands-on with the business as he wanted, so his father played a major role in the daily operations to keep it running. Meanwhile, Russell’s mind would still entertain ideas for other streams of income. One day he ended up having an impromptu conversation with an associate that would change his life. This conversation would lead him to find waste Management. Still playing In the NFL Russell began brainstorming Innovative ways to get into the industry. He would start his company in 2020 and finding what Russell affectionately calls “liquid gold”.

Russell would turn away from a potential huge NFL contract and would retire to go full-time and grow ShepBoys. The proof of concept was enough for Russell to go all in because the company saw instant results.

 To date, the company has done so well they’ve been approached 3 times in their short existence to be acquired. Russell however, continues to play the long game, building a family legacy at ShepBoys by expanding their products, services, and territory.

The Trucking Industry has provided opportunities and attracted many individuals from all walks of life. 

Philadelphia Hip-Hop Legend Spade-O, blazed a trail for many young “philly spitters” in the late 90’s with his group “major figgas,” which also featured other dope artists such as Gillie The Kid, Dutch, Ab Liva & Bianca.

At the time, The Record Industry was new to Spade-O and being from the streets he did not fully comprehend the opportunity that lay ahead. He would end up incarserated succumbing to the street life. 

Spade-O would serve a 12-year sentence. During this time he would changed his life and his mindset now determined to get a fresh start and positively impact his community. 

Not to long after release, Spade-O would get his CDL and hit the road. He enjoyed trucking and the freedom it brought. After some time, he began taking the steps to build his own trucking company A&B Global Transport, which now has a fleet of trucks. 

Today, Spade-O is determined to help others by providing job opportunities that will eventually lead to business ownership and keep people from making the same mistakes that he did.

Trent Griffin-Braaf is the CEO of GB Logistics which specializes in last mile delivery services and Tech Valley Shuttle which specializes in poverty reduction transportation services.

As a young adult Trent was sentenced to 4-12 years. However, while incarcerated he enrolled at Marist college, and used that as inspiration to become a “forever learner.” 

He went from janitor to general manager within Marriott. During that 5 year stretch he had a lot of success within the hospitality industry. He leveraged that success and started Tech Valley Shuttle and hasn’t taken his foot off the gas since. 

Trent went from "FELON TO FORBES" and now has over 45 vehicles in the fleet and nearly 100 employees.

Only  7 years ago Pradip Gurung “PG” was entering the United States on a work visa  from his native country of Nepal.  

In Nepal, “PG” was businessman, who went bankrupt and had to start over. He traveled to the US for a fresh start and new opportunity, never looking back. 

Landing in Virginia, First, PG became a waiter at a local restaurant to make ends meet. What he was making  was barely enough to provide for his then growing family and PG needed a change. 

To make more money “PG” decided to get his CDL and started working for and “OTR” trucking company of which he was fired from only after a year . He continued to drive for other companies until a rollover caused him to be let go from his last. 

Difficult to find employment PG’s only choice was to get his own truck and become a owner operator. 

By this time PG was saving his money and decided he would purchase his own truck and another shortly afterwards . He would also convince a friend from his community “ Shaan” to get into the trucking  business with him and also purchase a few trucks of his own. 

The two decided to go into business together. Fate would have it that they would find a distressed intermodal trucking business in Virginia Beach, VA and be able to purchase it for just 10K right before the pandemic hit. The business needed work and After investing an additional 100K and working through the pandemic they got it up and running. 

Fast forward under 2 years later, PG and his team now own 40 + Trucks, Employ 50 + drivers and have a full office staff of 14 people working to grow Blue Dolphin Transportation.

The company is currently does  a million dollars per month in revenue and have no plans on slowing down currently In The process of adding 10 more trucks to the fleet.

PG and his team have plans to become one of the biggest names In the trucking industry and make a impact in the intermodal scene.  With the companies humble beginnings you can’t help but to route for their continued success. This is a must hear story for anyone who is afraid of taking the leap and starting their own trucking business.
