Amy and T.J. get you caught up on the latest in the salacious BDSM murder trial where prosecutors say Brendan Banfield conspired with his au pair/lover to kill his wife and pin her murder on a stranger.  The defense began its case on Wednesday with a much anticipated digital forensics officer who was reassigned from the case. As the defense tries to poke holes in the prosecution’s narrative, the state has been extremely effective in knocking down any suggestion that Banfield wasn’t the mastermind behind the double murder.

After 7 hours of deliberating, a Texas jury finds former Uvalde police officer Adrian Gonzales not guilty of 29 counts of child endangerment.  It was an emotional 2 weeks of testimony,  many victims’ families traveling hundreds of miles, looking for justice after officers waited 77 minutes to confront the gunman who killed 19 students and 2 teachers at Robb Elementary School nearly 4 years ago.   Officer Gonzales arrived before the gunman entered the school and waited for backup as hundreds of shots rang out inside the school.

Criminal defense attorney Alison Triessl has been closely following the Brendan Banfield BDSM trial for the past two weeks. Triessl relies on her 3 decades of trial experience to talk about the prosecution’s case and what the defense needs to do to overcome the damning testimony of the au pair. If the jury believes her testimony, Triessl believes it will be an impossible road for the defense, but they have a potential ace up their sleeve, and it involves a Fairfax County police detective.

Amy and T.J. get you updated on one of the most salacious murder trials in recent history. A former IRS agent, Brendan Banfield is fighting for his freedom, charged with a double homicide for the murders of his wife, Christine and a stranger prosecutors say Banfield, along with the help of his au pair turned lover, lured to his home to set up for his wife’s death. The prosecution’s case against Banfield rests primarily on the testimony of the au pair, Juliana Peres Magalhães, who told jurors about their plan to “get rid of” Christine and pin the murder on Joseph Ryan, a man who believed he was coming to the Banfield home to participate in a BDSM sexual fantasy.

President Trump announced he has reached an agreement with NATO over a Greenland deal. Trump wouldn’t get into the details, saying only that the “solution will be a great one for the United States” and that he’s dropping the tariffs scheduled for next month.  Meantime, press secretary Karoline Leavitt denied to reporters that Trump accidentally referred to Greenland as Iceland multiple times in his speech earlier in the day, despite the fact that President Trump ABSOLUTELY said Iceland.  We all heard it.

President Trump spent more than an hour on the international stage in Davos at the World Economic Forum to brag about American strength and throw shade at “stupid” “weak” European countries.  While the big headline is that Trump acknowledged for the first time America will NOT use force to acquire Greenland, the other major headline was that “people will SOON be prosecuted for what they did” in what Trump calls the “rigged” 2020 election.

As of this recording, President Trump is on his way to Davos, Switzerland for the World Economic Forum, three hours behind schedule.  Air Force One had to turn around 45 minutes into its flight because of an electrical issue with the plane.   With the President’s major speech set for 8:30am ET, last night’s detour may push back the schedule for today.   Amy and T.J. discuss exactly what happened, and why this plays right into the recent controversy over that Qatari jet gifted to Trump by the royal family…. A plane Trump has said will be ready to fly as Air Force One, next month.
