Tributes have been pouring in online; friends and fellow actors expressing disbelief that Panettiere could be gone so soon.

A battle for custody of a newborn baby boy, whose parents wanted to terminate after a serious medical diagnosis, is brewing in Texas. The baby was born this week after the surrogate carrying him, McKenna West, refused to get an abortion at the biological parents’ request when he was diagnosed en utero with a life threatening heart condition, and fled to Texas “for protection.” The baby is in the custody of his biological parents and currently being treated while the legal battle plays out in court.

British police found 41-year-old Dr. Jason Arday unresponsive in his South London home on Friday, just weeks after the young professor resigned from his position with the prestigious Cambridge University. When he was named professor of sociology back in 2023 at the age of 37, he became the youngest black professor in the University’s history. He soon became the subject of questions and scrutiny for some of his published work and his seemingly remarkable personal backstory where Arday claimed he was non-verbal until age 11.

It was a stunning day in federal court as 28-year-old Luigi Mangione pleaded guilty to federal charges of stalking resulting in death of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson. Mangione was emotionless as he described how and why he murdered Thompson, detailing years of back pain and frustration with the insurance industry. It’s unclear now what will happen to the New York State murder charge against Magnione, his trial set to start on Sept 8th.

It’s been more than a year since 33-year-old Martha Nolan was found dead on a wealthy Montauk entrepreneur’s yacht last August and police have yet to release her cause of death or any updates on the investigation. So now, Nolan’s family is asking the public for information, setting up a website and tip line just days after filing a $50 million lawsuit against Christopher Durnan, the man who was alone with Nolan when she died. Even though police say she showed no signs of violence, Nolan’s family says their independent investigation showed there was blood in her mouth, chest and back of her head when EMTs showed up more than an hour after she reportedly “went limp” on Durnan’s yacht.
