A Florida judge decided to allow 16-year-old Timothy Hudson, accused of raping and murdering his step-sister Anna Kepner on a cruise ship last fall, to remain free with family members until his scheduled trial this fall. Prosecutors implored the judge to place Hudson in custody, questioning whether it would take a second murder before the judge deemed the teen dangerous. Ultimately, the judge sided with the defense.

What an inspiration: 50-year-old Dr. Shauna Burke just became the first woman with stage 4, incurable breast cancer to summit Mount Everest.  It took Burke 12 months of training, and 5 weeks to make it to the top. Burke has already had months of chemotherapy and continued her drug therapy as she made her way up the mountain, where she is conducting research on the effects of exercise and oxygen deprivation on cancer cells. Burke proving to the world with her historic summit, we are all stronger than we think.

Police believe they have finally solved a 34-year-old cold case out of Kentucky.  23-year-old Anna Lee Manning went missing in November of 1992. Late last week her husband and mother-in-law were arrested and charged with her murder. And just this week, police found skeletal remains in a shallow grave on Manning’s mother-in-law’s 5 acre property. Investigators are awaiting official identification of the remains, but believe they’ve finally found Anna Lee.

Rescue teams have just located five of the trapped villagers in a flooded Laos cave. The group is described as alive and safe, sitting on an elevated ledge with flood waters beneath them. Rescuers are still searching for the missing 2 as they devise their plan to extract the group from the long, narrow and treacherous tunnel that leads out of the cave.

New Jersey congressman, 57-year-old Tom Kean Jr. is up for reelection this year, but neither his constituents, nor his colleagues have laid eyes on him since early March. His staff and father, former New Jersey Governor Tom Kean Sr., have only referenced that the congressman is “addressing a personal health matter.” Just last week, a local New Jersey reporter said he spoke to the Congressman by phone, where Kean confirmed he is still running for re-election. Kean released a statement in mid April saying he expects to return to a full schedule and be at 100 percent, but in the meantime his whereabouts and condition remain a mystery.

45-year-old Jonathan Andic is speaking out and defending himself exactly one week after he was arrested for suspicion of murdering his father, 71-year-old Mango founder, Isak Andic. In an open letter to Mango employees announcing his decision to temporarily step away from his position, Jonathan said dismantling the painful, false narrative requires him to focus solely on his legal defense.  Mango, in turn, also released a statement conveying their full support for Jonathan and the entire Andic family.

Laos officials believe the 7 villagers trapped in a cave while searching for gold are still alive, as day 7 of rescue operations continue despite torrential rain in the area. This week, members of the same team that rescued the 12 members of a soccer team and their coach back in 2018 arrived to assist in the efforts. Rescuers describe the thousand foot tunnel they are trying to access as less than 2 feet wide in some areas.

The President is heading back to Walter Reed Medical Center for his third examination since taking office. Recent media headlines have pointed to Trump’s swollen ankles, bruised hands, and frequent Oval Office “naps” that the White House has described as “long blinks.” As Trump gets ready to turn 80 next month, he has been posting odd, self created headlines claiming he’s actually getting younger.
