This video covers Day 6 and Day 7 of Tyler McCain’s preliminary hearing in Shasta County, California. McCain is charged with the murder of his wife, Nikki Cheng Saelee-McCain, who vanished after she was last seen on May 18, 2024.
Key testimony came from an informant named Albert, his sister Felicia, and Justin, along with multiple detectives. Testimony included alleged confessions, Nikki’s history of domestic violence reports, and new evidence — such as Ring doorbell footage, medical records, and witness interviews. Prosecutors also confirmed that only a few hours of evidence remain before the judge decides whether this case will proceed to trial.

Day 5 of Tyler McCain’s preliminary hearing in the disappearance of his wife, Nikki Cheng Saelee-McCain. Testimony included details from Luis B., a DOJ criminalist, and Tyler’s mother, Jeanette Hayward. Key evidence, including DNA findings and witness accounts, is emerging as the judge considers whether this case will proceed to trial.

Tyler McCain was arrested in August 2025 and charged with murder with special circumstances in what is Shasta County’s first “no body” homicide case. In 2001, 49-year-old Leslie Preer was found murdered in her Chevy Chase, Maryland home. For 23 years, her case remained unsolved. Through DNA genealogy, police identified Eugene Gligor as her killer. In 2025, he was sentenced, finally bringing justice to Leslie’s family.
