We're talk with Larisa (therapist and mom of two) about her personal and professional experience as schools begin to re-open.  We talk about the emotional state of kids and how to address and name the emotions that kids are experiencing.   We explore how to help our kids feel safe and make decisions.  She reminds us to slow down and to notice that each child is different and that their feelings will shift and change. Kenan gives her insight as a teacher and what she's experiencing and  doing to help and support her students transition back into the classroom.  We also talk about  the importance of parents having compassion and grace for themselves and their family.

We talk with Susanne (Kenan's dear college friend who Steph became fast friends with too) about starting the Vail mind Center, a pediatric behavioral and mental health center,  in Vail Colorado.  We talk about her journey as an artist, an art teacher and an art therapist - as well as being a mom of 3! She opens up and tells us what motivated her to start the Center.  She has a child with special needs and they were having difficulties finding clinicians and resources in her community. She and her husband worked together to turn their  dream into a reality. They have 8 clinicians and service the greater Vail area. Susanne works as an art therapist at the Center. Our chat is truly inspiring as we hear how her family's personal need  turned into a much bigger endeavor that's helping and serving children in her community.

In this bonus episode, I (Steph Kafoury) am interviewed  by Entrepreneurs in the Spotlight. I talk about my coaching practice focusing on how dreams really do come true and how to embrace your true self and become extraordinary. 
What if dreams really do come true? What would that mean for you? What if you could remove the limiting obstacles? We start each day with a blank slate – we don’t know what will happen. Instead of reactively going down the same path in life you have the choice to open your eyes and see new possibilities.
I challenge the viewers to DREAM BIG and notice the the thoughts and feelings that limit us: "I could never do that" = feeling of fear and doubt. And how those thoughts affect the actions/inaction you take and thereby the results you achieve. And how when you have awareness of these thoughts you have the choice to change your thoughts: "I can do this, my dreams come true" = feeling of optimism and confidence. And this leads to taking action in the direction of achieving your dreams! 

Being normal isn’t amazing – we want to be normal, so we’ll be accepted and “liked.”  When we embrace our true selves and stop worrying about what other’s will think, we become extraordinary. And extraordinary people change the world.

We talk with Amie (our dear running friend) about how she's turned her passion project into a business -  making a statement and impact.  Third Monday in April  is a women owned online running shop created to spread the joy of running and grounded in the belief that running should be a path open to all.  We talk about what inspired Amie to start her brand,  what fueled her take action and how she's giving back by donating her proceeds to non-profits working to combat social injustices and promoting girl empowerment.  Kenan and I have matching t-shirts from her Equality line: ‘84 The first olympic year women could run the marathon.

We talk with Marie (our best friend for 43 years - we're 7 days apart) about her amazing and successful running carer and how that led her to starting Wildwood Running. Their mission is to empower female  runners in mind and body. She tells us about how her "girl talks" are a platform for high school girls to talk about the critical topics females are facing that that age (body image, healthy eating, puberty, hormones and self confidence).  Through her coaching and mentoring programs she educates, guides and empowers  young females to be confident in their minds and bodies.
