This week Mike and Kaz are talking about what they look for in a good travel watch. What neither expected is just how much their perspectives have changed over the past 2 years. Do we actually need a "travel" watch? Or is it just another one of those collector-pitfalls we convince ourselves is normal? The guys discuss choices for a sporty travel watch, a dressy travel watch, and the perfect hotel bar travel watch.

Besides the erotic "complications" we've all come to love, Mike and Kaz thought it would be a great idea to discuss watch complications that don't get enough love these days. Are they too expensive? Too obscure? Difficult to service? Listen in as the guys pick their favorite "forgotten" complications.

Mike and Kaz return to an all-time favorite TBWS staple - watch brands they know nothing about. This time, they tackle one of the more controversial brands around and try to understand the ins and outs of Hublot. Kaz is on the road to recovery with his Sumo on-wrist and Mike introduces the newest watch in his collection - a quartz CWC dive watch.

From their earliest days producing quartz watches to the full-throttle Biver years rife with Big Bangs, Hublot is definitely a brand that can attract the masses. Why the hate? Why weird collaborations? Is there a vintage Hublot collector's market. Join the guys as they try to crack open the brand's history and potential.

This one's been a long time coming! Mike and I are running through a "State of the Watch Collection" - choosing which pieces we absolutely can't part with and those which, well, we realize we could possibly do without.

Breaking down all these pieces and getting a bird's eye view of our current collections inevitably sparks the discussion of "the one watch" - or at the very least the three watch collection: the driver, diver, and flyer. For me, I rediscover a personally iconic diver that I haven't worn in a while - at the same time, I'm stuck on the prospect of that damn Omega... Plus Mike teases a new watch purchase 0_o...

It's something we've said a lot - "collect in a vacuum" - "collect in a bubble" ect ect - it's the idea that as a collector what influences your purchases should only ever be your own choices. But what does that really mean? With the increased advent of hard-sell marketing practices, FOMO Instagram culture, and lack of watch media outlets keeping it real, we decided it was time to have a proper discussion about this.

What does it actually mean to collect what you like? How can you tell what you actually like if brand outreach and social media are you only touch points for what's out there? We dig deep and share our own personal experiences navigating this space.

Dealing with the difficulties of a growing prevalence on eCommerce means that sometimes we can't try on a watch before we buy it, which may not be an issue for a $70 Seiko. But what about if you wanted to save up for months or years and really buy something expensive? Buying something sight-unseen for $2,000 or $10,000 is a huge risk - what if you hate it? Some people mitigate this risk by buying the fake versions of the watches they want to save up for in order to see how they wear? But is this the right approach?
