In this episode of Unraveling the Brain, Dr. Loren interviews the parents of Theo, a young girl whose story shows the power of resilience and the potential of neurodevelopmental healing.
Theo’s first years of life were filled with medical emergencies. She was born with intestinal atresia and required surgery within the first 24 hours. More surgeries followed, along with sepsis, liver failure, and long periods of intubation. She spent almost two years in intensive care and was resuscitated multiple times.
Because of her long hospital stay, she missed important developmental windows and entered childhood with significant delays. Her parents tried traditional therapy for years but eventually felt that progress had stopped. They knew their daughter had more potential than her body could show.
That belief led them to Infinity Minnesota for a two week neurodevelopmental intensive. During her time here, Theo made noticeable changes. Her posture improved. Her eye focus became stronger. Her movement opened up. Her muscle tone became more balanced. She engaged with her therapists. She showed more joy, more presence, and more confidence.
Her parents share how Infinity’s brain first approach gave them hope again. They describe laser therapy, movement work, sensory integration, and reflex development that supported Theo’s brain and body as a whole system. They also talk about how it felt to finally see momentum after years of struggle.
Theo’s story is a reminder that healing is possible. When you treat the child as a whole person and support the brain directly, progress can begin again.
If your child has hit a plateau or you feel like you are out of options, this conversation may give you a new perspective on what is possible.
