The Unchanging Word Bible study continues in the book of Jude verses 11-13.

In verse 11, Dr. Mitchell discusses the way of Cain, salvation without sacrifice, and the error of Balaam, commercialization of spiritual things, and perishing in the gainsaying of Korah, which is opposition to the authority of God.

These three O.T. examples are given as comparisons to the current rash of teachers who have despised and rejected the Savior Himself. Even our current society, politics and culture, is permeated with such people.

In 2Peter 2, Peter also writes of these false teachers. Read that chapter as well.

As Dr. Mitchell reminds us from 2Peter 3, "God is not slack concerning His promise, but is long-suffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance."

Jude, wants the believers with the common salvation to contend for the faith, so he gives a picture of what was currently happening in his time.

In comparing 2Peter 2 with this book of Jude, you can see that when Peter wrote, he wrote that these same false teachers would be coming. And when you come to the book of Jude, Jude records that they were now here.

Times have not changed all that much in our day. There are still those who are leaders who are teaching things contrary to the Word of God with lifestyles that show it.

Dr. Mitchell gives us an exposition of these verses. So turn with us to the book of Jude 8 with Dr. Mitchell.

Welcome to the Unchanging Word bible study. Our study continues in the book of Jude with Dr. Mitchell. Our study covers Jude verses 4-7.

In these verses, Jude brings out the character of certain people even in his day and the fact of their denial of the Savior Himself.There are those who do not give our Lord Jesus Christ His rightful place as Lord and as Savior, exalted to God's right hand.

In the next verses, 5-7, Jude then goes on to give three examples, three warnings of how the Lord dealt with the people he delivered out of Egypt, and of the angels that sinned, and of the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah. These three examples are still graphic examples for us today.

God is displaying His grace in these day, but without a doubt, God will yet also be just in His judgement on those who reject Jesus and His salvation.

Today, the Unchanging Word Bible study begins in the book of Jude.

Jude was the brother of James who were both half brothers to Jesus in the days of His flesh.

This book of Jude addresses the need in these last days for each believing Christian to contend for the faith. This faith has been once for all delivered to the saints for it's defense and confirmation.

In contending for the faith, Dr. Mitchell exhorts us to do so in love especially to those who may not be in the same denominational or ecclesiastical tradition as we find ourselves. We are to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace as those who hold to the Bible God's Divine Revelation, the Deity of our Lord Jesus Christ and His finished work of salvation.

So, let's join Dr. Mitchell our teacher, with your Bible open to the book of Jude verses 1-4.

Today closes the Epistles of John Series with the book of 3rd John.

Whom I love in the truth!

Whom I love in Jesus Christ.

Whom I love in the gospel.

Whom I love in the Word of God.

Love for the brethren and fellowship in the truth…how it blesses the heart of God Himself!

John writes to a beloved brother whom he loves in the truth. He writes of the one who has a good testimony from all and from the truth itself. Here is an indication of whom to include in your fellowship. Preferring rather to speak face to face rather than writing a letter.

Now here is Dr. Mitchell to close out our study in 3rd John.

This is the Unchanging Word.

2 John speaks to us of love for one another.

There are those who do not abide in the doctrine of Christ and do not have God but he who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son.

Isn't it good to know that God has given us the Bible as the divine revelation of who He is through the Lord Jesus Christ? Let's continue with Dr. Mitchell in 2 John verse 5.

In our study today we learn that Love is the bond between believers and the truth is the foundation for that bond.

Jesus Christ Himself is the truth, God manifest in the flesh.

Here is Dr. Mitchell to continue our study in 2John verses 2-6.

Thank you for joining us in the Unchanging Word. Our study today takes us into the 2nd Epistle of John.

John writes to the elect lady and her children commending them for walking in the truth. Also John gives us a warning as to who to exclude from fellowship and why.

In John 17, Jesus prayed for His own saying "They are not of the world even as I am not of the world. Father, sanctify them in Thy truth. Thy word is truth."

Let's be assured, the Father will answer Jesus' prayer !

So let us abide in His Word.
