When Robin Weeks' father and brother were both diagnosed with terminal illnesses in 2011 and 2012, she stepped up to care for her mother, sacrificing her own career and financial well-being to provide a sense of comfort and compassion in her mother's final years.
"Caring for my mother was probably the most profound feeling of compassion I think I've ever had in my life. I don't think I've ever felt that much compassion for another human being." - Robin Weeks
Robin Weeks is a 20-year veteran of the personal development field, having worked with managers and executives. After her father's death in 2012, she began looking after her mother, eventually moving her to Virginia. Robin now shares her life experiences and lessons learned through her coaching and leadership development company, My Pivotal Point.
Robin Weeks cared for her dying father, then her mother, until her mother's passing in 2018. Weeks dedicated her time to her mom, often sacrificing her work and income. With her mother gone, Weeks felt lost and unmoored until she realized the profound impact she had made. She used her experience to help other caregivers, eventually becoming certified and creating a compassionate space for those in need.
In this episode, you will learn the following:
1. How Robin managed to care for her mother, who was diagnosed with a terminal illness and was given six months to live while also working and managing her own business.
2. Robin experienced a profound compassion for another human being while caring for her mother.
3. How Robin became a certified caregiving consultant and started looking into ways to serve other caregivers in a coaching capacity.
