Lennie Acuff is the head men's basketball coach at Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee. Coach Acuff is in his 32nd year as a college head coach, with stints at the Division III level (Belhaven College 1990-92, Berry College 1993-97), the Division II level (University of Alabama-Huntsville 1997-2019), and the Division I level (Lipscomb University 2020-present). Coach Acuff currently serves as the 2nd Vice-President for the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) and has won over 500 games in his career. He's built winning programs at every level and is known throughout the coaching community as a tremendous leader and culture builder. I hope you get as much out of this conversation as I did.

Bob Garner was a volunteer at the Hoosier Gym in Knightstown, Indiana. His larger than life personality was infectious as he gave tours to tens of thousands of visitors over the years.  He passed away on December 10th and this episode honors his impact on United Basketball, The Hoosier Gym and the Knightstown community.  

In 1985, interest in the gym increased when a film crew descended upon Knightstown, looking for a place to film Hoosiers. The movie told the story of the unique phenomenon known as Hoosier Hysteria — Indiana’s obsession with basketball. The gym provided the perfect setting. About one third of the film was filmed in the gym. As a result of the success of this film, the old Knightstown gymnasium came to be known as the Hoosier Gym.
