Jordan chats with Amie Ichikawa, the co-founder of www.womaniiwoman.org, a grassroots nonprofit organization by formerly incarcerated women for incarcerated women. California's SB 132 has legalized gender self ID in prisons. It allows transgender-identified male state prison inmates to transfer to a women's prison without hormones, surgery, or any time spent living as the opposite sex. Amie explains why a lack of guardrails could lead to abuse by opportunistic male felons. In Washington state, one male inmate who transferred was a serial killer of women.
