VIA Race, Chapter II: Into the Alps, Into the Myth

The race hits new heights, literally. As riders leave the flats behind and enter the mighty Alps. Bruno Wicht and Adam Bialek charge up the Kühtai climb toward Gate 7, with Bruno taking the lead by just under an hour. But it’s still anyone’s game at the front, with relentless climbs, freezing temps, and only short snatches of sleep.

The women’s race brings new moves too, Joanna Rumińska-Pietrzyk rides through the night to take the lead, while Gosia Warelich faces some wild detours on the map. Route choices, rest strategies, and pure grit are shaping the leaderboard.

We also hear from Jakub Tomasik at Refuge 1, Joanna looking for a place to sleep, and Marc Bühel gives us an update on that dog bite.

Climbs, chaos, and cold descents. Day 4 is a turning point in VIA.
