  • Vikings O-Line improvement? Pt 2 - CTPN Quick Shots
This is the second part of the episode of Climbing The Pocket Quick Shots, Jayson Brown sits down with two of the Climbing The Pocket Network’s film watching experts to talk Minnesota Vikings O-Line improvement. Tyler Forness and Matt Fries look in-depth at the skills and possibilities of all the offensive linemen that the Vikings acquired after taking Ezra Cleveland, like Blake Brandel from Oregon State, Kyle Hinton from the football power house of Washburn, and Brady Aiello from Oregon, their all purpose lineman.
There are also the players still on the team that didn’t start last season like Dru Samia, Oli Udoh and Aviante Collins that figure into the new look of the line because we know there is at least one player at right guard, and at left, Pat Elflein will have to show a miraculous improvement to stay in the LG spot. Cleveland could start, Riley Reiff could move over, Garrett Bradbury and Brian O’Neill locked into their spots and a wide open competition at RG. Who will win it? Who will make the squad to back them up?
Those are questions we are all looking forward to seeing answers on. Rick Spielman has been working over the last few years to improve the offensive line. His success rate over Mike Zimmer’s tenure has been questionable at times, but Gary Kubiak and Mike Dennison are on the staff, the 2020 draft in the books, and things are looking up. Agree or disagree? What say you?

  • Vikings O-Line improvement? - CTPN Quick Shots pt 1
In this episode of Climbing The Pocket Quick Shots, Jayson Brown sits down with two of the Climbing The Pocket Network’s film watching experts. Tyler Forness and Matt Fries go over their opinions on what they saw with the Ezra Cleveland all 22 tape, and how they see him being utilized by the Vikings. Will he start, and what position? Those are but two of the questions they attempt to answer. Also, what will that starting offensive line actually look like?
Matt and Tyler get into key traits of Ezra’s play, like his ability to do a jump set, how he uses his leverage, has good hand movement, and the ability to get downfield quickly. They go over his athletic ability is tested in the combine, and there are very few offensive lineman that come close to his athleticism. This all points to very good things in the future. The question is, could it be this season?

  • GMG - Vikings Draft Wrap Up
Good morning Horners! We finally did it. Drew Bunting, Ted Glover, the Pave Low pilot, and the Grand Poobah himself, Mr. Christopher Gates of Daily Norseman, and I sat down and did a draft recap show. After 17.5 hours of live broadcast for the draft, we sit down and review the Minnesota Vikings 2020 draft picks. From our first rounders of Justin Jefferson and Jeff Gladney all the way to our last seventh rounder and talking about the first quarterback taken since Teddy Bridgewater, Nate Stanley from Iowa.
We go through the entire list, in round one there are expected starters Justin Jefferson at wide receiver and Jeff Gladney at cornerback. Round two we open up with Ezra Cleveland who may or may not start. Dave explains why he should from the get-go at left tackle. There were tons of gems and hopefully diamonds in the rough found in the later rounds too. Our question to you is, who were your favorites? Who do you think is going to start in 2020? Who do you think will contribute in 2020? In these crazy times, have the Vikings improved, and will be reflected on the field

  • CTPN Quick Shots - Where is Matthew Coller and what is Purple Insider?
In this episode of Climbing The Pocket Quick Shots, Jayson Brown sits down with Matthew Coller to find out what he has been up to. As many of you already know, the company that owns SKOR North has been hit exceptionally hard by tertiary results of the virus. The radio station had to lay off the majority of their on-air personalities, and Matthew color was one of them.
Matthew has started a new venture and it is called Purple Insider. He has retained his credentials to cover the Minnesota Vikings in the same full way you have been used to. The only difference is that he will be publishing now at Purple Insider, in a newsletter format that could be delivered to your email inbox daily. You can sign up for free and get one article per week, or you could subscribe and get all of his reporting and analysis. Also on the way, will be a podcast including Courtney Cronin of ESPN, and Sage Rosenfels, just the way you had it with Purple Daily. All of this in an effort to keep you informed on the team we care about.
Kirk Cousins is sort of an enigma that a lot of the team decisions revolve around. Matthew and Jason talk about that, along with how many variations of the offensive line can be hypothesized to help protect him. It is quite the conversation. Will Dru Samia start? Will the Vikings go out and experienced veteran yet? Does Dalvin Cook get an extension? Will Anthony Harris get a long-term contract? We don’t know yet, but Matthew will be there to report on it. Who will be the surprise players that contribute more than you think they would right now? Could it be Oli Udoh, Armon Watts, or even Chad Beebe? All this was part of the discussion and part of Climbing The Pocket Network and of Daily Norseman bringing you the best Vikings news and information you can get anywhere.
