It's hard to believe all that's happened since I posted my last podcast a week ago. Our world is in turmoil and it feel so HEAVY right now. This episode starts with acknowledging how we are all experiencing the world in different ways and that it's ok for us to be scared, silent or speak up. I share why my daily gratitude practice is essential when times are tough. These are some of the most difficult times we have lived through in our generation. Our gratitude practice is a critical tool for getting through it.
I end with a 9 minute gratitude grounding meditation. Please make sure you listen in a safe place (not while driving) and listen again and again. I practice this short meditation at the beach most days and it's been a lifeline when things are really difficult.
I love you. I see you. Everyone one of you. And I continue to promise to do better when it comes to supporting BIPOC.

This special bonus episode is unlike the other episodes you'll find on this podcast. Another black man was murdered by a police officer. George Floyd is gone. I'm a white woman with white privilege, and I acknowledge that I don't know what it's like to be judged by the color of my skin. Thank you to my black friends who encouraged me to speak out in support. I am ready to be a part of the change and I have much to learn. How can we as a Gratitude Community be a part our global evolution?

Join Kavita Maharaj and I for a self-love interview that explores a number of relevant topics including how her yoga studio has navigated the COVID-19 crisis. We discuss how they adapted when the pandemic was first announced and how they are re-adjusting now that some of the restrictions are lifted. We also talk about how it's critical to navigate the dark times in order to appreciate the light and why gratitude is crucial.
Kavita is the Director of Red Door Yoga Nanaimo and has been teaching yoga and leading yoga teacher training for 17 years. She is a traditional practicing yogi. Originally from the Toronto area, she grew up in Trindad and returned to Toronto as a teen. She's now been living on the West Coast of Canada for more than a decade and considers this her home.

One of the hardest things during the pandemic is dealing with friends and family who have different opinions. It's never easy when you find yourself confronting someone you love. In this episode I'm sharing how to be friends when you've got different opinions. And I bring up something I've noticed over the past few weeks - we are no longer sharing our gratitude like we used to! The Tsunami of Gratitude is gone (see Episode 40) and I want us to bring it back!

Should we be listening to our intuitive nudges? I believe that there has never been a better time to listen carefully to what our soul is craving. Paula Johnson is a registered clinical counselor, who leapt into her career when she was inspired by dream. Paula not only follows her nudges, she's been 'pushed' to take action by choosing to listen to her intuition.
We also discuss past-life regression and EMDR, two types of therapies that can be instrumental in healing from trauma.

We are more than two months into the global pandemic and we've all seen our lives change in many difficult ways. I'm tired of hearing about the 'new normal' and businesses that are 'pivoting'. In this podcast I share how we can find joy during a pandemic, and a reminder of the important of self-love and self-care for all of us. Also, if you're wondering where Wake Up With Gratitude comes from, I share my story of how I survived a life-threatening bacterial infection several years ago. After almost losing my life, I truly understand what it means to wake up with gratitude.

Ayódele O Kolade is a Transformation Specialist and a certified NLP Master Practitioner & Trainer. She transformed her own life after having grown up with depression throughout her childhood and early adulthood. After going through many difficult traumas, she began her healing journey.
Recorded in March 2020, right before the global pandemic, this interview is especially important to those who are going through a very difficult time. Her story is a testament that you can survive the darkest of times and transform your life, with the right support and coaching. We are in a mental health crisis right now, and her advice may be life changing for some of you. If you are in immediate danger, please call your local mental health support services today.
Ayódele used these modalities (including NLP, Hypnotherapy and Time Line Therapy®️) in her own journey, and then decided to make it her life's mission to help others to heal as well.
I share her mission statement in our interview, as I found it so incredibly powerful: "I am dedicated to assisting people in transforming the pain and darkness from the past into light, self-acceptance and the deepest understanding of themselves possible. I am committed to the personal growth and evolution of each client that I serve and make it my mission to assist you in achieving the happiness, confidence, self-belief and personal mastery so that you can truly be the person you want to be in the world."

Andrew Fraser has been through challenging times before, and he shares how some of the lessons he learned after dealing with major trauma as a teen. Andrew's story is a true hero's journey and having known him for almost 20 years, I've seen a lot of that growth myself. Our interview includes many strategies for dealing with the challenges we face today during the pandemic.
Few men are guests on my podcast. Andrew's interview is one of the best I have done to date. I encourage you to lean in and listen in right til the end.
Andrew currently lives in Colorado, where he is living a multi-passionate lifestyle as a climbing gym director, yoga instructor, resistance trainer (a specialized form of coaching), and outdoor enthusiast who loves to climb mountains, and jump out of perfectly good planes.
Join Andrew on Mondays at 5:30 MST (4:30 PST) for a live yoga and breath work class.
