Wake Up With Wonder episodes

  • EP: 86 - WonderWall

Today's episode is going to be called WonderWall and it was inspired by the 1995 Oasis Rock song called WonderWall, heres the chorus from the song "because maybe your gonna be the one that saves me and after all you're my wonderwall"

With that verse in mind the principle of today's podcast episode is "we are not savior's and no one is coming to save you" I'll dive more into that principle later on into the show.

I told a short story/fable I made up in here so enjoy, it's a fun one with a good message!

    Announcements:

    - Next week we will be launching a wristband campaign titled "wonder more worry less" more details to come next week but it will be a 21 day mindfulness challenge

-Were growing and expanding we are now on IHeart Radio, check us out over there and leave a comment/review

-We have partenered with @onecractyeducator and we are doing a giveaway via IG on Wednesday 10/14 via an IG post, follow and story share so check my page out on IG for those details @jasonbgodoy

-Lastly, I will be changing the format of the podcast going forward back down to 2 episodes per week. Ultimately I did daily episodes for about 2 months as a way to challenge myself and see exactly what I was capable of.  Now you can expect weekly episodes on Tuesdays and Thursdays, interview episodes will continue to be mixed in randomly as I find new guests to interview.

On Thursday episodes I am going to attempt to introduce a short new segment called "The Wonder of YOU" where essentially you the listener either leaves an anchor voice message (link in show notes) or sends in your Wonders or questions via IG, FB or Email. The concept of this new segment is that it's sort of like an AMA or a Q&A but the only way these segments work is if you the listener interacts and submits your thought's or questions. Literally you can ask me anything about personal development, life, whats trending, current events, or just share your personal wonder's and random thoughts throughout the day. The point behind this Wonder of YOU segment is that wonder is not only individual but also collective so this is an opporunity for us all to collectively experience wonder together.

In this episode the host Jason shares the discovery of the concept "I AM THAT I AM." After having done an I AM meditation for the past 4 days and not understanding what it meant to BE the I AM. It finally hit me like a ton of bricks... I AM what ever I need to be and so are you. You are more than enough and you can become all that is required of you. The question is "who will you have to become to do ...... ?"  or  "What version of you is capable of doing ..... ?"  Tune into the full episode to learn more. My friend only you know the answer to this question, but I'd love to hear what you discover for yourself. Feel free to share with me at my contact info below.

  • EP: 83 - Wonder of a Phone Call - WUWW Podcast

In this episode the host Jason shares the principle that was revealed after an angry phone call he had with a friend from his old fantasy football league. The principle is "someone who calls is someone who cares,"

We use this principle as a prime example of mirroring and dive deep into the concept of mirroring.

"Friends hold a mirror up to eachother; through that mirror they can see eachother in ways that would not otherwise be accessible to them, and it is this mirroring that helps them improve themselves as persons."  -Aristotle

An exercise taught in this episode to help with mirroring within oneself is: (The Qualities of a Friend) exercise, basically, write down or think about your 10 closest friends and think of a quality each of them has that you admire. Write down that quality or think about it and take a second to be loving and kind and compassionate to yourself, as you do this begin to witness and experience that same quality within yourself.

  • EP: 82 - Wonder of the Dot - WUWW Podcast

In this episode the host Jason shares the power of the Dot and how it can be used to unlock creativity and spark inspiration. The principle today is "in order to Wonder you must first take action." Essentially we all have a mark to make in this world and the uncertainty of what that may be can keep us believing we don't actually have a mark to make in this world. So we have to start somewhere.. Why not start with a mark, it doesn't have to be your mark, just a mark. Once we've started and made a mark, we can begin to Wonder about how we can turn this into thee mark or our mark. At which point creativity and inspiration are unlocked and our wonder begins to evolve.

  • EP: 81 - Wonder of Hope - WUWW Podcast

In this episode the host Jason B. Godoy recaps the 3 biggest takeaways that he received from the interview he did with Tamara Smith of the Grieving Mind on loss, grief and the transition process. The 3 biggest takeaways were:

    1. "Spelling" is called spelling for a reason because our words have the powers to cast spells. We discussed visualization and I connected this to the process of using lofty questions along with affirmations to place more power behind our words.

    2. "5 Love Languages" - Tamara mentioned how beneficial it may be to know a person's primary and secondary love languages as a way to best support them during their grieving process. This is a huge golden nugget. I am familiar with the 5-love languages but I never thought of the Idea to apply it to friendships and other secondary relationships outside of my primary relationships like parents, siblings, partners. Another key was that if we don't know our friend's love languages supporting them is as easy as asking them "how can I best support you during this time?"

    3. "The Wonder of Hope" - The overall message and theme of our conversation was that wonder is hope. For some people who are deep in the grief process and experiencing extensive states of sadness and depression they may not be able to find any hope in the moment. Without hope it's easy to get lost in the pit of darkness and not find anything positive that will help push us forward even just 1 more day. So if someone is unable to find Hope you have to start somewhere so why not start by simply wondering? There is so much hope to be found in wondering.

9/10/2020 is international Suicide Awareness Day

In this episode the host shares with you the acronym "F.A.C.T.S" to help us all be aware of someone that may be exhibiting suicidal tendencies. Plus three ways to safely hold space for someone who may be experiencing suicidal symptoms.  After this opening segment we move into the lighthouse theory. Essentially a lighthouse and a tugboat both accomplish the same tasks and neither goes about doing so the wrong way but lighthouse is the one who withstands the test of time. Tune in to hear this theory in more depth and to understand why neither a lighthouse or a tugboat is wrong but it can be more beneficial to us and others if we operate as a lighthouse in our day to day lives.

  • EP: 78 - Wonder why I wasn’t time blocking before - WUWW Podcast
In this episode the host breaks down the concept of time blocking. He shares how prior to time blocking he used “To-Do” lists and his to-do lists would constantly keep growing and growing. The worst part was the overwhelming feeling of seeing the to-do list grow and grow, while not being able to see the distractions and triggers that we’re keeping him from completing tasks and making traction towards his goals. Time blocking has proven to be an effective tool used by many people for maximizing productivity, tracking patterns of unnecessary distractions and habits that do not serve our bigger goals. The host shares the principle that “our values = our time” along with 2-reflection questions that we can utilize to determine whether we are living out our values on a daily basis. A technique within time blocking discussed in this episode is the “pomodoro” technique where one utilizes a 30 minute or 1 hour timer to get into periods of deep focus at work.
