This week in the United States we promote with great fervor and commitment, Religious Freedom Week. In our country the framers of the Constitution determined that the protection of religious liberty was so important it became part of our First Amendment rights. Regrettably, nearly 230 years later, the battle must still be fought. It is fought in our courts, in our Congress, and in our communities.

It is a wonderful occasion for sure, but no amount of flowers or phone calls will ever allow us to repay a mother’s love, a love beyond price or measure. There is no substitute for a mother’s presence, no equal to her devotion.
