Matt was born in Phoenix AZ but grew up and graduated an Iowa boy, spending his prep years at Dowling Catholic High School. Kluver competed in travel sports as kids against Matt, who happens to be one of Jon Wiz's best friends from Dowling. Kluver and Matt would later play in Shrine Bowl together before heading off to college. Matt was a talented athlete with some interest as a WR but happened into a boom of Punting interest his junior year. This odd skill landed him a scholarship at Arizona State University where he would go on to start for 3 years and play next to college great Zane Gonzalez. Matt was picked up as a free agent after graduating and has now spent 6 seasons in the NFL with 4 teams. We discuss his wild rise to the League, the ins and outs of special teams in the NFL, the contrast between organizations and a whole lot more!

In this episode we catch up on each others lives and do some housekeeping items on the agenda. We open up with a bigger discussion about what sport requires the most skill? What Drake and Kevin would have shot at the PGA Championship, and how cool the Michael Block story is. We read some incredibly entertaining reviews of our podcast where one fan gives the best description of the show, and more specifically Kevin, of all time. We discuss Kasper's second son who is an 8th grader already scoring an offer from Oregon. A potential opportunity to collab with an Iowa brewery presents itself to the boys and we talk about the possibilities of partnering with them. Kevin ponders using his adult money to buy himself a moped to relive the glory days of college. We throw it back to our first ever on site podcast from a local Iowa City joint, and then we talk about Cooper Dejean a little bit. We finish by pumping Gervase's Rally For Reid Football camp.

Josey is from Decorah, IA. He is one of the crew, similar to Ike, and lived at the infamous Benton St residence with the Walkons. He enters his 6th NFL season later this year and he has spent all 6 in Denver where he was originally drafted. The topics discussed over the next 100+ minutes are numerous.. they include Josey having to go through 4 different staffs, how Denver compares to Iowa, our least favorite day of conditioning ever in Iowa City, Josey being a dad, Russell Wilson, The Slip n Slide we built in 2016, Bo Bower's Bachelor party this past weekend, Josey's business back in Decorah, and literally dozens of other topics.

Zach, brother of Tyler, is also from Marshalltown but ended up going to high school in Ankeny, playing for Jaguars of Centennial. He never planned on playing college football, until a coach recruiting Riley Moss, his high school teammate, mentioned something to Tyler in late 2017. That sparked a multi year process of scratching and clawing his way into the program. His career lasted 2 years before he decided to move on, but sits as an example of how many, maybe the majority of walk on careers actually play out. And highlights the effort and work put in regardless of shining in the spotlight of college football like the star players. Zach also talks about when the racial discrimination drama hit Iowa, and what it was like for him and several of his teammates who were 8 weeks fresh in the program- and what the team meeting was like that day it all went down.

In this episode all 4 of us finally reconvene on one episode, no guest included, for the first time in over a month. The boys discuss a wide variety of topics most notably how we get to a point with the brand that we can hire Grant full time and Kevin can quit his job. Kluver gives a lesson on Podcasting revenue, and we ponder the actual possibility of the Paulsen's doing a show produced by 'The Walkons'. At the end of the episode we bring back our Walkon Top 5 segment with our favorite ice cream flavors.

Caleb is from Council Bluffs, IA. He recently in 2021 finished up his career in Iowa City as an Iowa Hawkeye, but that wasn't always the known ending in his story. He played 6 seasons with the Hawks, something that would only happen when a pandemic hits, and he waited his turn for 5 of those seasons to really be the feature of the Iowa kicking game. He talks about sitting behind guys like Miguel Recinos and Keith Duncan, and what it was like to battle them for the job. He discusses his major injury setback that could have very well ended his career. What it was like when the world shut down and how the D1 football life at Iowa looked when you couldn't go anywhere or do anything. He describes his eventual path to a scholarship, training for the NFL, and now his time in Tennessee where he looks to be the front runner for the job.

Ike is from Cedar Falls, IA and joined the Hawks in the class of 2013 along with all 3 hosts on the show. His story is not an uncommon one in some ways, as he built himself from a slender and mobile 240 pound TE recruit into a behemoth 300+ pound lineman for the Hawks. Fellow resident in the infamous Benton house and best friend of the podcast, Ike has carved his way through 5 years in the NFL almost exclusively with the Buffalo Bills. We talk life, family, and football. We hope you enjoy.
