It's a new year and The Boys are celebrating by welcoming Brad from the wonderful Not a Bomb podcast onto the show to review Netflix's big holiday release, "Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery." We discuss everything from the ensemble cast, the mechanics of murder mysteries, the appeal of broad comedy, and the strange limited theatrical window that Netflix grants to certain films. Before that, Brad pluses a revisit of a classic sci-fi show, Jose touts the benefits of a probiotic supplement, and Justin pays his respect to a fallen voice in pro wrestling.

For the last episode of 2022 (#20in2022)...The Watch/Skippers take on the A-list star studded, much anticipated, Hollywood hey-day set "Babylon" directed by young Oscar winner Damian Chazelle. At nearly three hours in length and with a puzzling marketing campaign (looks like "Moulin Rouge"...plays like something completely different), is this a soon-to-be cult classic revered for its rich cinematography and balls-out (literally given the first 30 minutes!) storytelling and bravura, swing for the fences performances by performers, new and veteran? Or is this indeed the biggest bomb of 2022 - a chaotic, unfocused mess of a movie, made as a middle finger to the industry? Get us in your ears and find out (Hold onto your bucket hats: You'll be VERY surprised who says "watch" and who says "skip). Before that, The Cinemasochist provides a cautionary tale about how winter and technology can be bad bedfellows, and Cupcake discusses his epic rewatch of a vaunted and much celebrated series (hint: WHERE ARE MY DRAGONS?!!?!). 

As the holidays start ramping up and the year starts drawing to a close, the Boys head back to the theater to cover the most expensive film ever made, James Cameron's long-awaited sequel, "Avatar: The Way of Water." The visual tentpole picture produced a girthy discussion on 3D, IMAX, special effects, the sequel gap, heady themes, and what constitutes art & experimentation. Before diving in (see what we did there?), Cupcake pluses a unique clothing item that may suspend your belief, while the Cinemasochist pluses a fluffy video game that unintentionally causes a giggle fit. 

Santa’s gift sack is overflowing on this bountiful episode where The Cinemasochist and Cupcake for the first time have a COMBINED plus, detailing a wild and wacky weekend together. Ho ho ho! Tis the season for an action-packed Santa riff on "Die Hard!" The Boys go down 87North Productions' chimney to retrieve "Violent Night," which sees David Harbour don the iconic red mantle and kick some serious ass! You won't believe how deep Cupcake and the Cinemasochist go, not just into the production and fight choreography, but the themes hidden beneath the mayhem! Before they unwrap their opinions on the film, Jose shares a Black Friday purchase that cut skin deep, while Justin discusses a recent holiday special that is out of this world! 

Episode 16 finds the Watch/Skip’ers (joined by Harry and Linus, the Death By DVD boys…this being their second appearance) taking a bite out of Luca Guadagnino’s cannibal love story “Bones and All’.  Listen as they go intimately deep under the skin of this oddly poignant and moving reinvention of the “road trip/coming of age” story and discuss Guadagnino’s prowess as an emotional filmic artist.  

Who knew a film about fine, young cannibals could inspire such a discussion about the nature of love, connection, and loneliness (PLUS along the way you might learn about film stocks, a bonus definition of the word “plus”, and a spot surprisingly deft comparison by Harry of this film to a beloved children’s book. But before all that, Harry plus’s a new piece of digital hi-techery, Linus introduces you to a UK comedian/author/actor, Justin plus’s a book about….what else? Wrestling, and Jose remembers a performer who sadly passed recently.

The Boys celebrate Thanksgiving by going to a fancy restaurant, but discover some shocking surprises with "THE MENU!" (See what we did there?) Before they gorge themselves on the main course, they provide their own appetizers via their pluses. (We can't stop with the wordplay!) Cupcake highlights the career of a misunderstood actress who is hopefully getting a renaissance, while the Cinemasochist regales seeing a topical play that was very personal to him (in more ways than one). 

Episode 14 sees the Watch/Skip'ers, the Cinemasochist and Cupcake, inviting a momentous and epic panel of guests to discuss an equally momentous and epic film. Joining them are Linus from "Death By Dvd", Sam U. Rai from "The Gentleman's Guide To Midnite Cinema", and Masaki (Sammy's son....we told you it was "momentous"!) as they all review the latest MCU sequel, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, the hotly anticipated film that continues the Black Panther legacy in the wake and absence of its lead star who tragically passed away. Before the review, Linus plus's the recent passing of an iconic voice performer and actor, Sammy talks home theatre additions, Justin plus's Regal's second recent Mystery Movie (albeit even less spirited than the last one), and Masaki campaigns for the last iteration of a storied video game franchise. Once the panel discusses the film, you will never guess who says Watch and who says Skip, but suffice it to say, it's possible the MCU Honeymoon may be over. 

The Boys welcome fellow podcasting brother-in-arms Brad from the Not a Bomb podcast on to the show to review the newest adaptation of All Quiet on the Western Front (now streaming on Netflix). The trio get philosophical on war, recount their history with the source material, and discuss what truly makes a good anti-war film. Before that, Brad pluses a recent video game release that has a negative reception, Justin literally goes out of the box with his lifestyle plus, and Jose discusses a popular streaming series that he finally got around to for his plus (hint: it's a smorgasbord from a celebrated author).

The Cinemasochist and Cupcake take on the box office horror sensation Terrifier 2, and yet again: They get downright philosophical and explore the nature of horror films, the passionate and rabid creature known as "the horror film fan", and along the way, name drop iconic horror directors, tout an undercover PLUS for a current cable horror series, Cupcake confesses his lust for yet ANOTHER actor, and together they ponder the Murtagh and Riggs of it all...."are we too old for this s&*T"?!?!? Justin pluses an underground sequel horror treat, while Cupcake fetes a recent horror moviethon attended with peeps who should sound familiar. 

Also...Angry Cupcake makes an appearance at the end, and apparently..."you'll like when he gets angry."
