NEW EPISODE! But uh…..WHAT HAPPENED TO 28 MONTHS? JUST JUMPED TO YEARS I SEE….

*Links in bio - please check out our video episodes on Spotify and YouTube

On an episode SO EPIC not even an exploding transformer-driven power outage could stop, the Boys welcome Rob from the UK gem of a podcast “Caliber 9 From Outer Space” to take on Danny Boyle’s return to the rage zombie-genre busting/reinvention franchise with “28 Years Later”. A third sequel…18 years later…AND a planned trilogy? Will audiences eat this up like a rage infected zombie fresh from a hunger strike or will this wholly, unexpected, world building entry piece with lots of zombie full frontal, poignant moments, and the most WTF ending in recent history drive audiences to other summer fare with dragons, aliens on aliens, and race cars?

PREPARE THE SKULL CLEANING BROTH AND RAGE OUT WITH WS+!

For pluses: Rob introduces us to the handheld, retro game, nostalgia bait console - the Miyoo Mini Plus which like Cupcake is “small but powerful”; Mike gives a quickie take on the remake of “How to Train Your Dragon”.

SAY I DO WITH OUR NEW REVIEW OF CELINE SONG’S NEW DEUX!

Ahhhhh the eternal dilemma:  Marry for true love or for your partner’s deep endless bank account! But seriously, WillDaBeast and Cupcake take on the second film “Materialists” from acclaimed director / playwright Celine Song whose debut film was the multiple critic society and Oscar nominated “Past Lives”. Her new film is an allegoric tale about love and dating in the social media/materialistic 2020’s and follows a matchmaker who has to choose between either Chris Evans or Pedro Pascal. Dakota Johnson (aka Madame Web) wrestles MIGHTILY, folks. Does Johnson bring the acting thunder to this meditation on love and superficiality and wading through dating or is this a mixed bag message that wants its fairy tale cake AND to eat its brutal, emotional warfare icing too?

SWIPE RIGHT AND DATE OUR NEW EPISODE!

For Plus’s: Mike reviews the Bloc Party concert tour (Silent Alarm live OR greatest hits?) while Jose double plussses Prime’s new gay identity/college shenanigans comedy show “Overcompensating” and “Cleaner”: a Die Hard clone involving…wait for it….a former ex military grunt turned high rise window cleaner who also has an autistic hacker brother who has to save hostages in an environmental terrorist takeover of a corporate launch. (yup…you read that right).

A SECOND JOHN WICK SPINOFF? ONE OF US HATED THIS S*^T!

Pretty sure the pitch went like this:  “Let’s do a female John Wick with that sexy girl who was in No Time to Die…we’ll get that Underworld director; he knows how to make a female action star…guaranteed box office.” Weeeeeeellllllll….

This week the Boyz take on “Ballerina: From the World of John Wick”, the second spin off (if you’ve been paying attention) from the famed, possibly never ending, but Keanu-is-getting-too-old “John Wick” franchise. Spoiler Alert: One of us coins a new level of “Skip” category and man, did that co-host ever HATE this film.

GET ON POINTE…AND CHECK OUT THE NEW EPISODE!

Stick around for the PLUS: Mike talks troubled Ryan Adams on tour while Jose has things to say about the Hulu Original: Predator Killer of Killers animated film.

BRING HER BACK….or rather…..BRING YOUR BARFBAG!

The Boys would write a cogent summary for this episode but they are still gagging and curled up in the fetal position having seen “Bring Her Back”, the latest from YouTube stars-turned-directors/A24 darlings, Danny and Michael Philippou. As if their debut horror film “Talk To Me” wasn’t intense and scary and horrific enough, “Bring Her Back” said, “Hold my beer.” Bring your spiritual talismans and salt circles, WilDaBeast and Cupcake slice and dice into this year’s must see horror audience litmus test!

Jose talks Ugly Stepsister and the intense French action Hulu streaming “The Night Call” as well as the proposed snarky ass Madame Web popcorn bucket. The unstoppable, couch-jumping Scientologist force of cinema Tom Cruise is back for the “final” (note: air quotes) Mission: Impossible, but is the world box-office ready to reward this three hour action vanity project with success or the “success” (note: air quotes) of the last film “Mission:Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One”, itself so not very but kinda successful…they CHANGED the title of this film (!) WilDaBeast and Cupcake break out their spy gear and take on the M:I franchise and movie #8. You will be surprised at who fell for this and who thought it deserved to come in from the cold and be retired.

No one beats Death’s design but will the new Final Destination film escape box office death? NEW EPISODE IN YOUR FUTURE NOW!

Whose premonition would have held that 14 years AFTER the last film in the Final Destination horror franchise, WB/New Line would attempt a reboot/requel/sequel? Hollywood loves to recycle franchise while looking down its nose at horror…and here we are: Final Destination: Bloodlines, directed by Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein, starring TWO…count ‘em…TWO Filipino leads (Katlyn Santa Juana and Teo Briones). Does this freaky, supernatural gore-show triumphantly revive the once dead franchise or is it a limp, “more of the same”, Grim Reaper as slasher entry in a franchise that should have been left for dead?

LOOK FOR THE SIGNS AND CHECK OUT THE NEW EPISODE!

Later for his Plus, Mike talks your new annual music festival destination, and Jose plus’s your next skincare destination.

Josh Hartnett’s manic self is on loose post-Trap…Fight? Flight? Watch? Skip?

First time director martial arts armageddon on a plane with a manic Josh Harnett armed with sex appeal and a sardonic smile? IN! The Boys couldn’t help but jump the boarding line and review the show’s first ever “Streaming in the UK/Theatrical US release” - Witness: “Fight or Flight” from director James Madigan and co-starring Katee Sackoff, Charithra Chandran, Julian Kostov, and Marko Zaror. WillDaBeast beams in from a secret location for a slightly chaotic, fast moving episode (they FORGOT the outro!) in which we talk the hair mistakes of the two leads, the identity of the screenwriters, the overly convoluted plot, the action, chainsaws, and the fight coordinator’s feet. Dubbing it “Bullet Plane”, is this film “John Wick meets Smoking Aces on a plane” and worthy of fandom OR does it deserve a crash land in the $5 physical media bin?

KICK INTO OUR NEW EP AND FIND OUT!

Jose reviews YET another film involving a bullet train while Mike spreads good vibes with his plus.

MARVEL PHASE FIVE CLOSER THUNDERBOLTS IS UPON US! BUT DO YOU EVEN CARE?!?!?!!?!?

Power up for a super sized episode chock full of MCU chatter, mentions of bare feet, and TWO stultifyingly BAD DAD jokes as WillDaBeast and Cupcake not only review the LAST MCU film of 2025 and of Phase Five - Thunderbolts* (yes the asterix actually does serve a purpose) but they finally get Kevin from the Raiders of the Podcast to guest. Thrill to his sexy accent and brilliant insight as the three talk the State of the MCU and what sets Thunderbolts* (starring Florence Pugh, David Harbour, Hannah John-Kamen, Wyatt Russell, Sebastian Stan, Lewis Pullman, and a super bitchy Julia Louis-Dreyfus) apart from any MCU pic thus far. But will the movie save the MCU and restore it to the boffo box-office days of the Infinity Saga yore or is it more formulaic, non-movie, fanboy service pap?

ASSEMBLE YOUR EYES AND EARS AND EXPERIENCE OUR NEW EP!

Our guest Kevin gives us a bloody themed plus while WilldaBeast talks exercise and a forgotten minimalist, all-purpose workout device.

Autistic Superhero Assassin KICKS ASS AGAIN! FIRE UP OUR NEW EP!!!!

Cupcake forces WilldaBeast to watch not only the original film, The Accountant, but also the new sequel The Accountant 2. Batfleck himself and Jon Bernthal return in the sequel as the Autistic superhero assassin accountant and his normie brother get together to help out an old (dead) friend solve the mystery of a missing girl and her family. Is this sequel a worthy universe expansion/possible franchise starter for The Accountant character - think John Wick if he had ASD and a connected network of hackers and assassins - or is it just pat espionage drivel that’s more of the same considering most of the original cast and crew are back?

Run the numbers and target our new episode and find out!

Mike’s plus does a body GOOD while Cupcake reviews the runner up for this week’s movie - a new Netflix movie chock full of face-kicking, large butcher knives, corrupt cops, and wonky CGI.

Pray for our Sinners….so that we might have GREAT CINEMA!!!!

Brilliant, commercially and critically successful director Ryan Coogler has gifted us with Coogler #5: Sinners, a Jim Crow-era set, period drama-hybrid-horror-musical fusion. The Boys review the film starring Michael B. Jordan playing twins(!) and a wonderful cast of veterans (Delroy Lindo, Omar Benson Miller, Hailee Steinfeld, Jack O’Connell) and newcomers (Miles Caton, Li Jun Li, Jayme Lawson). This exciting original IP film may not break new ground with its gangster-juke joint-night of supernatural chaos plot but its ingenious fusion of sumptuous visuals, genre defying music based on Southern Black Blues, and kitchen sink story elements and technical proficiency makes for a theatrical experience unlike any you will see this year. The only question is: Which host has more of a critical eye on this unique period genre epic?

Put a stake right through our new episode and FIND OUT!

And theeeeen…..WillDaBeast keeps the music theme running from the review to his plus while Cupcake reviews a new streaming film with a misleading poster and a huge misdirection over the plot with a third act twist.
