In this first part of our two-part episode, metal artist and welder Rae Ripple joined hosts Dan Davis and Jim Gorzek at FABTECH 2022 in Atlanta to talk about everything from her massive metal Armadillo sculpture, her love of stunt bike riding, the dangers of hot dogs, her goal to create art for Burning Man, and her clever methods for handling and forming sheet metal.

"I started out as a very poor kid, you know, in this industry," said Rae Ripple, who also appeared on the Netflix show Metal Shop Masters. "I couldn't afford equipment the way other people did it. So if I wanted to get stuff done, I had to learn how to do it a different way, with my bare hands. And a lot of my work is still done like that today."

Dan, Jim and the guys also chat about the upcoming star-studded movie "Cocaine Bear" (RIP Ray Liotta), the incredible true story behind it, and how the legend became a Roadside America tourist attraction in Lexington, Ky.
