In this edition of Locked on Capitals Dan talks about Anthony Mantha and where does he fit into the Capitals future plans. Anthony is a very hot and cold player. He scored one goal in his last eleven games. That's not a formula for being on the starting lineup on an NHL team. But despite his hot and cold tendencies he's having a career best in 5 on 5 and third among team forwards. He know he needs to work on his game and said “I think just my work ethic. Right now that’s what I need to do if I want to get back in the lineup, and I’ll have to show them.”

Later in the show Dan talks about some great signing Brian Maclellan has made at a great price. Mac signed Sonny Milano and Eric Gustafson to cheap deals and those players have produced greatly on this year's team. Mac has a history of those kind of signings in the past like Bret Connoly and Devante Smith-Pelly
