Join me for 'My Garden Chat tasting Waterford Whisky Part 2' with 3 of my buddies from the Cork Whiskey Society: Aidan McGovern @aidanmc_g JP O'Riordan @whiskeyfella Daniel Pennington @dramofthemonth I was kindly sent a tasting pack by Ned Gahan (Head Distiller) and Megan Kiely (PR Exec) from Waterford Distillery and I invited the lads up to my garden to crack open these whiskys for the first time and we continued our chat, well into the night.....until the fine Irish weather intervened..... Join me for My chat with The Friends of Midleton, Ian Garrett & Eddie D'Arcy. The lads started a Facebook group called the Friends of Midleton, to bring together lovers of the famous Cork Distillery. They also have 'Friends of Bruichladdie' and 'Friends of Waterford' Facebook groups and an upcoming exclusive cask strength release of Powers Whiskey. I was joined by 4 of their members: Cyril Briscoe, Jim Raferty from the Dylan Whiskey Bar, Pat Crotty from Paris Texas Bar and Eddie Langton from Langton's House Hotel We had a great chat about why the Guild was set up, what they've achieved in promoting whiskey tourism in Kilkenny City and how they are looking forward to 2024, where Kilkenny will be celebrating the 700yr anniversary of The Red Book of Ossory, where the first mention of 'Aqua Vitae' the water of life is written.
