Why you need to think about your baby's brain before you're pregnant

Listen Later

When you start thinking about having a baby, what is your biggest concern? For most people fertility is top of mind, closely followed by choice of support during pregnancy and how you're going to have your baby. Not many people will be thinking of their baby-to-be's brain development. But Dr Kerryn Phelps AM wants you to start making it a priority. Kerryn has written a book called How to Keep Your Brain Youngand in it she dedicates a chapter to what parents-to-be need to know about a baby's brain. Kerryn talks about what we need to consider even before we start trying to fall pregnant, and the optimal conditions for growing a healthy brain.
