1. ESPN Cleveland’s Brian Windhorst saying the Bucks called the Knicks and asked for an offer for Giannis Antetokounmpo, because Giannis said, 'I want to be a Knick.' It appears Giannis has committed to play for the Bucks this season but has already asked to be traded.

2. Pushback from Wisconsinites to the buildup of data centers in the state is growing. Protestors outside the state Capitol Tuesday chanting "Save America's Dairyland". Meanwhile in Port Washington, things got a bit more heated Tuesday evening, with the detaining of a woman by police at a Port Washington Common Council meeting Tuesday night, following news we reported yesterday afternoon that a groundbreaking on a 15-billion-dollar data center for OpenAI and Oracle is set for December 19th. The paper reports multiple people were handcuffed by Port police at the meeting but that no one was ultimately taken to jail. More than 50 people demonstrated outside Milwaukee's Discovery World Tuesday as well, while separate demonstrations were held in Kenosha, Janesville, Menomonie and Beaver Dam.

3. The first of 5 defendants in the Matthew Perry case will be sentenced today in federal court in Los Angeles. The five defendants, all of whom have entered guilty pleas, were part of an alleged underground network that provided the former Friends star with large amounts of the drug. Two of the five defendants are physicians. One is Perry's former assistant, one is a middleman who physically gave the drugs to Perry's former assistant, and the other is a woman known as the Ketamine Queen. If convicted, Plasencia could face up to 40 years in prison.

Wisconsin DNR Deer Program Specialist Jeff Pritzl gives the statistics, following opening weekend of deer gun hunting season. Is this an increase or decrease in turnout? Why does he think this is? How did these dates become the gun deer season? What is the deer population like in Wisconsin?

1. We have a new contestant in the race for Governor of the great state of Wisconsin. Former Lieutenant Governor Mandela Barnes officially launched his campaign today. Barnes served as Lieutenant Governor from 2019 to 2023. He previously ran for the U.S. Senate in 2022, narrowly losing to incumbent Republican Ron Johnson. Barnes joins a crowded field on the Democratic ticket. He's currently one of eight in the race and could be one of nine pending the decision of Greater Milwaukee Committee President, Joel Brennan. It took only a few minutes for Republican Tom Tiffany to put out a press release saying, among other things, "Wisconsinites rejected Barnes in 2022, and they will do it again in 2026."Tiffany & Washington Country Executive, Josh Schoemann are the Republican representatives in the mix. Both parties will hold their 2026 primary on August 11th.

2. Could the end be near for vehicle emissions testing in Southeast Wisconsin? State Representative Bob Donovan believes the time is now to end the practice, writing to Wisconsin's Congressional Delegation in Washington to repeal the mandate for emissions tests in the so-called "seven county nonattainment area". That includes all of Milwaukee and Ozaukee counties and parts of Washington, Waukesha, Racine, Sheboygan and Kenosha that haven't reached national ambient air quality standards set in 2015 and thus have more strict permitting requirements and emissions testing to register a vehicle. Vehicles from model year 1995 or older are exempt. For context, the EPA has estimated that Wisconsin contributes to between 8 and 16 percent of its own ozone, while emissions from other states contribute to between 42 and 48 percent. Could the planned obsolescence of older cars, and subsequent replacement with newer, more efficient vehicles, negate the need for testing eventually?
