ABC News Correspondent Jim Ryan talks about how six months before they dawn their caps and gowns, graduating high school and college seniors are staring down the barrel of the worst job market in at least five years, according to a national survey of employers. The prospect of a career in the up-and-coming tech sector has fizzled as companies from Amazon to Zillow downsize their workforces, leaving members of the Class of 2026 wondering where their first job is coming from. Some of the fiercest competition they face isn’t coming from fellow graduates, but from artificial intelligence.

1. In a reversal of his months-long opposition to the release of information related to late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, President Trump is now endorsing House Republicans to vote yes to release the files related to his case. House GOP leaders are planning to vote tomorrow on legislation that would force the full release of the Justice Department's files on Epstein.

2. An 18-year-old MPS student shot and killed just blocks from their school is now identified. Namar Hicks had left Assata High School on Milwaukee's north side for early release around midday Friday, when police say he was confronted by a group in an attempted robbery. Hicks managed to get back to the school for help and was taken to the hospital but ultimately lost his life. On Saturday, Hick's family gathered near the school for a ceremony honoring his life. A 17-year-old who was also shot is now in custody, and police continue to seek multiple other suspects connected to the robbery attempt.

3. Summerfest announces another headliner for 2026.Rock band Muse will headline Summerfest on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at the American Family Insurance Amphitheater. Their first performance in Milwaukee since 2010. The show is one of just three the band has announced so far for 2026, and the only one in North America. Tickets go on sale November 21st. Muse joins Ed Sheeran, Post Malone and Alex Warren as headliners for the Big Gig. Garth Brooks will play two nights at the Amphitheater as part of a kickoff event June 16th and 17th.

1. The skies over America are returning to normal. The FAA says flight reductions at 40 major airports nationwide ended this morning at 6 a.m. That means airlines can resume their normal operations and fly at their full capacity and just in time for the holiday rush.

2. An Epstein List about face. President Trump now says he wants the files released related to late, convicted sex predator Jeffrey Epstein. The president initially objected to the release of the files, causing a rift between himself and fellow Republicans including one of his staunchest defenders. While a House vote appears imminent, an Epstein bill would face an unclear future in the Senate.

3. The Packers snap a two-game skid with a fourth quarter comeback win over the Giants Sunday in New Jersey. Jordan Love found Christian Watson in the end zone with about 4 minutes to play for the go-ahead score. Evan Williams picked off Jameis Winston in the end zone in the final minute to secure the win. Also key for the Packers, backup Quarterback Malik Willis. Willis entered the game late in the first quarter after Jordan Love left with a shoulder injury. Willis ended his only drive with a touchdown pass to Christian Watson early in the second quarter. The Packers improve to 6-3 and 1 with the win. Next up, the Minnesota Vikings Sunday at Lambeau.

1. Two people are injured, including a student, after being shot near Assata High School on Milwaukee's north side. Around 11:30 am this/Friday morning, one of the students from Assata had early dismissal, and was shot about two blocks from campus. The student was able to return to the school, and it was immediately placed on lockdown. The student was taken to the hospital for their injuries. Police are reporting a second person who was also shot. Both of their current conditions are unknown. Parents are encouraged to pick up their children on the 35th Street side of the school. Students who are catching buses should walk to Hampton Avenue. Students are also welcome to remain in the building and will be dismissed as normal at the end of the day.

2. Could there soon be a better way to test for Lyme's Disease? Researchers say they've developed a test that can help doctors make an earlier and more-accurate diagnosis of the sometimes-debilitating disease. The researchers presented their findings this morning at the annual meeting of the Association for Molecular Pathology in Boston. The incidence of Lyme disease has been on the rise in the U.S. in Wisconsin, the pests are starting to make their appearance earlier than previous years as Wisconsin experiences warmer winters. Wisconsin had nearly 6,500 cases of Lyme disease in 2024, the highest on record, and in 2025 ER-related Lyme Disease cases were up as well. A bull's eye-like rash is a sign of infection, but it occurs in only about a quarter of those who are infected.
