1. Amazon is bouncing back from a major outage that knocked out popular apps and websites around the world. The company says it has fixed what it's calling an "underlying issue", signaling to many industry analysts this was not a hack. But ripple effects are still being felt, from banks to airlines. This stands to go down as just an "inconvenience" for most users. One of the takeaways is when Amazon sneezes, most of cyberspace catches a cold, or at least a few symptoms. According to Down Detector, the app that tracks problems like these, some of the sites affected were Amazon, Facebook, Disney+, Lyft, McDonald's, Snapchat, United Airlines, Venmo, and Verizon. And some United and Delta customers even reported on social media that they couldn't find their reservations online, they couldn't check in, and they couldn't drop their bags off.

2. The Trump Administration continues to target fishing vessels and other boats in the Caribbean. These are deadly strikes and the administration claims all the boats targeted were attempting to smuggle drugs into the US. 32 people have died. The strikes are not sitting well with Colombian President Gustavo who said one boat targeted last month was a fishing vessel that got lost. President Trump has pledged to end U.S. aid to the South American country.

3. The Louvre in Paris is closed today, after a major jewelry heist. Several people disguised as construction workers broke into the world-famous museum early Sunday morning and stole centuries old jewels. Police say the masked robbers drove up to the side of the museum in a truck mounted with a ladder described as a "mobile freight elevator. Police say the lift was extended up to a second-floor window which the thieves broke open using an angle grinder, a handheld power tool used for metalwork from there they’re alleged to have threatened security guards before ransacking the Apollo gallery where Napoleon the Third’s crown jewels were on display. Police say they tried to set fire to the lift they used before they fled. The raid lasted all of 7 minutes before they escaped on scooters.

1. It's do or die for the Brewers tonight in Los Angeles. Three games, three runs scored, no wins, that's the story for the Brewers offense which has done next to nothing against Dodgers pitching. The losses have overshadowed some quality pitching performances for the Brewers including the Miz who allowed 1 earned run and stuck out 9 in 5 innings of work. 2. A federal appeals court is blocking the Trump administration's desire to deploy National Guard troops in Chicago. The court did allow the federal government to keep the troops in federal service, but it explicitly maintained the lower court's order preventing their deployment within Illinois for now. The administration is expected to continue the appeal process.

1. All good things must come to an end, but hopefully not tonight for the Milwaukee Brewers. That's Jacob Misiorowski who's been the Brewers best pitcher during the post-season. Miz struck out 9 over 5 innings of work in Thursday night's 3-1 loss. Winning is a must for the Brewers season and this series to continue. The Brewers’ 9 hits in three games ties the 1906 White Sox for the fewest in league history. Still not sure who will start for the Brewers tonight. Shohei Ohtani will take the ball for the Dodgers. 2. Milwaukee Public Schools is offering a $1,000 bonus to lure retired teachers back into the classroom to address a district-wide teacher shortage. The incentive is part of a larger campaign to fill 83 current teacher vacancies. The bonus is available to retired teachers from MPS or any other Wisconsin school district. To receive the $1,000 bonus, retired teachers must be successfully placed in a school and work for at least six months. Teachers can return to work full-time or part-time, potentially through job-sharing arrangements with another retired teacher. MPS has a particular need for teachers in middle school grades, special education, art, music, and physical education.

3. It's a war between Smuckers and Trader Joe's, over peanut butter and jelly. Smuckers, the makers of Uncrustables, is suing Traders Joe's claiming the grocery chains crustless frozen sandwich too closely resembles its own signature design. Uncrustables are a staple everywhere from school cafeterias to N-F-L locker rooms. Smuckers claims Trader Joe's frozen P-B-and-Js are, quote "obvious copycats." Trader Joe's is well known for its private-label products, which are designed to save customers money. The store often develops its own versions of popular name-brand items and sells them at a lower price.
