Taylor Albrecht from the Wisconsin Organized Retail Crime Association talks about the “crime belt”, how to discreetly monitor and arrest theft suspects, if shoppers are ever interrupted by these arrests, how wide-range organized crime really is, and how Wisconsin’s retail theft compares to other states.

ABC News Transportation Reporter Clara McMichael talks about on Wednesday, twenty-five people aboard a Delta Air Lines flight from Salt Lake City to Amsterdam were hospitalized after the flight encountered "significant" turbulence and was diverted to Minneapolis-St. Paul, the airline said. One passenger said "There was actually no warning. It was a very abrupt, hard hit." "If you didn't have your seat belt on -- everyone that didn't -- they hit the ceiling, and then they fell to the ground, and the carts also hit the ceiling and fell to the ground ... and it happened several times, so it was really scary." Since then, all 25 have been released. The FAA said it is investigating and late Thursday it was announced that the NTSB is also investigating the incident. How rare is this level of turbulence? What should passengers do to stay safe during turbulence?

1. For the first time, the Milwaukee man convicted of murdering and dismembering Sade Robinson addresses the victim's family. Then, he announced, he's appealing. 34-year-old Maxwell Anderson offered condolences to the Robinson family, but also said he didn't kill Sade. Anderson did show some emotion in court today. Tears flowed down his face after his father spoke. Before that happened, Robinson's mother, father, and sister spoke in court. The judge said she also received "victim impact statements" from complete strangers who didn't even know Robinson but felt a deep desire to support her. Certainly, no closure for the Robinson family today, as Anderson announced in court he's appealing. He says he didn't kill her. The judge sentenced him to life in prison WITHOUT the possibility of parole.

2. It's the final day of a 3-day NTSB hearing looking for answers about the deadly crash of an American Airlines regional jet and an Army Black Hawk helicopter over the Potomac River in January. All 67 people on both aircraft were killed.

3. The jobs report is out today, and it's weaker-than-expected. Some analysts say what we're starting to see is businesses are having a hard time planning for the future. It's tough to expand payrolls and hire more people, when you don't know what your costs are going to be moving forward.

Plenty of questions have yet to be answered: does he actually have traumatic brain injury? Why was he admitted twice to a mental health facility? What circumstances allowed him to purchase an assault style weapon? This shooting has also called into question the safety of office buildings. Brad will talk about how the shooter was able to walk so brazenly into this building, the difficulties law enforcement has in identifying individuals who are a potential threat, and even if we did know, could he have been stopped?

1. A mother's fury ahead of tomorrow's sentencing for the man convicted of killing and dismembering her daughter. 34-year-old Maxwell Anderson faces a mandatory life sentence for the 2024 murder of 19-year-old Sade Robinson. Robinson’s body parts were found scattered around Milwaukee County. Some were also found along the lakeshore in Waukegan, Illinois. I talked with Robinson’s mother, Sheena Scarbrough, this week, as she prepares for Anderson's sentencing. She told me the one thing she wants is a confession and to know where the rest of her daughter's remains are hidden. Scarbrough also said she doesn't think her daughter was the first victim. I reached out to Anderson's attorney, Anthony Cotton, to see if Maxwell Anderson's father would like to respond. We have not heard back yet. Anderson's sentencing is set for 8:30 tomorrow morning. The big question is whether the judge will grant Anderson the possibility for parole.

2. You likely noticed both the sight and smell of wildfire smoke as you began your day today across the state. According to the Wisconsin State Climatology Office in Madison, around 11 this morning, six Wisconsin cities are in the top 10 for worst air quality in the country, including both #1 and #1. Green Bay was number 1 at an air quality index of 208, Milwaukee was number 2 at 201, Waukesha, Rhinelander, Madison and Beloit were also on the list. The Air Quality Alert has been extended for all Southeast Wisconsin until noon Friday.
