The eighth annual tech confab featured appearances by former Google CEO Eric Schmidt, and Geoffrey Hinton, the Nobel laureate often referred to as the “Godfather of AI.” The biggest announcement, however, came from Chinese Premier Li Qiang, who called for an international organization to govern the development and use of AI. 2. A vigil will be held tonight for the four people who died in the middle of New York City - at a high-rise office building. Shane Tamura opened fire in the lobby Monday afteroon, then took the elevator up to another floor where he opened fire again before killing himself on the 33rd floor. Investigators believe Shane Tamura was targeting the NFL Offices in that building but took the wrong elevator bank. Former NYPD Chief Detective Robert Boyce says investigators will be combing through the evidence - namely, a note the shooter left behind. The note found on Tamura's person referenced the NFL and linked his actions to CTE, a brain injury Tamura blames the NFL for. Tamura played football in high school in California nearly two decades ago. An NFL employee was also shot, but he's in stable condition at a NYC hospital according to the NFL.
