1. President Trump floating the idea of re-opening Alcatraz, the defunct prison off the coast of San Francisco, to house the country's "worst offenders". "The Rock" closed in the 1960s after it was deemed too expensive to operate and too frail a facility to hold anyone. Now, it exists as a National Park and is a major tourist attraction.

2. Preparations are being made in Milwaukee to remove "Deep Thought" from Lake Michigan. The abandoned boat, full of graffiti, water and sand, weighing roughly 20,000 pounds, is supposed to be removed on Tuesday. Previous efforts to remove the vessel have failed. All City Towing plans to have two "cranes on wheels," another wrecker and a specialized semi with a trailer to pull the boat out. Tomorrow from 8-4, Lincoln Memorial Drive in Milwaukee will be temporarily closed in both directions between Lafayette Hill Road and E. Water Tower Road to facilitate the removal.

3. Cardinals from around the World are gathering this week to vote on who could become the next Pope. It's expected that Cardinals will cast multiple ballots inside the Sistine Chapel, at the Vatican. White smoke will appear from the chimney once Cardinals have elected a Pope, another stove has been installed to burn the ballots. The vehicle will be retrofit with medical equipment for diagnosis, examination, and treatment of children, and other life-saving supplies.

1. Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson and local union leaders are expected to formally announce their support for a new multi-story hotel proposed for Deer District at 1:30 this afternoon. The Moxy Hotel would be constructed on vacant land near the corner of North Vel Phillips Avenue and West State Street, the former home of the Bradley Center. The hotel will be a nine-story, 162-room street building positioned next to the Deer District's new FPC Live concert venue, which is currently under construction. Moxy Hotels are part of the Marriott family and described as Stylish and Playful...forget the front desk, at Moxy hotels, guests can check in at the bar. The hotel has a projected opening for spring 2027.

2. The case: United States v. Combs, goes to trial in downtown Manhattan this month and jury selection begins today. Prosecutors allege that music mogul, Sean "Diddy" Combs orchestrated marathon hotel room encounters involving heavy drug use and coerced sex. Here are the Five criminal charges against Combs: One count of racketeering conspiracy. Two counts of sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion, which carries a maximum sentence of life in prison and a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years in prison. Two counts transportation to engage in prostitution, which carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison.

3. The U.S. Education Department has not collected on defaulted loans since March 2020 that changes today. The Department of Education says five million borrowers are in default after not making payment of their government student loans for at least 90 days. The government can now take payment from borrowers' tax refunds, wages, or send the debt to collectors. Of the nearly 43 million people who owe money, only a little more than a third have made regular payments. In the last five years, student debt has grown to $1.6 trillion. Combs has denied any wrongdoing.

1. The dominoes are falling in the wake of Kohl’s CEO Ashley Buchanan getting the boot. The woman Buchanan is accused of funneling business to, was just let go from her gig at Boston Consulting Group. The woman’s name is Chandra Holt. She’s held significant jobs at retail companies like Walmart, Sam’s Club, Walgreens and Target. For a very brief time she was CEO of Bed Bath & Beyond. Earlier this year, she launched her own coffee brand called “Incredi-brew.” Buchanan was fired after just four months as CEO of Kohl’s. The Menomonee Falls based retailer says he directed the company to engage in vendor transactions that involved undisclosed conflicts of interest. Buchanan and Holt were in a relationship. Kohl’s has appointed Michael Bender as Interim CEO.

2. Washington County Executive Josh Schoemann is expected to announce his bid for Governor on Sunday. He’s officially filed the paperwork. His campaign tells us he has an event is at 3PM Sunday at Elderberry Manor in West Bend. Schoemann is the first candidate from a mayor party... to enter the race for Wisconsin governor. During our last hour: We played an interview that had never been heard before with Schoemann. It's the Washington County Executive discussing how a book by Vice President JD Vance inspired his platform.

1. Prepare for price hikes! Some of the last cargo ships carrying Chinese products without tariffs are arriving in US ports today. Shipments loaded after April 9 will carry the 145% tariff President Donald Trump ordered on goods from China. One that's being hit hard: baby products. Their industry group says 90% of core baby products or their parts come from China.

2. With signs of economic turbulence continuing, U.S. job creation slowed between March and April. Still, hiring came in hotter than expected. President Donald Trump continues to call for the Fed to lower its benchmark interest rate. To this point, Federal Reserve Chair, Jerome Powell has not obliged.

3. It's getting harder and harder to afford housing! The annual income required to afford a median-priced U.S. home, first crossed into the six figures in May 2022. It hasn't dropped below that level since.
