ABC News Technology Reporter Mike Dobuski talks about how this week, a court takes up the question of what to do about Google’s monopoly in the search engine market, as ruled by a judge last year. A litany of possible remedies are on the table, including breaking up the company altogether. It comes just days after Google was found to be operating a completely different monopoly, this time in the world of online advertising technology. And that’s not all, the antitrust trial brought by the Federal Trade Commission against Meta is now in its second week, the FTC is also prepping an antitrust case against Amazon, and the Department of Justice is readying a challenge against Apple. Plus! A tiny new truck has been garnering some attention around southern California, from a startup with a major backer. Mike has everything you need to know.

1. We're about 60 minutes away from a big announcement impacting the nation's food supply. The Secretary of Health and Human Services, Robert F. Kennedy Junior, is expected to call on food manufacturers to phase out the use of eight dyes found in hundreds of thousands of grocery store staples. The plan is expected to be discussed in detail during an event in Washington at 3pm. Companies have found ways to eliminate many dyes in other countries.

2. A defiant Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth insists he's not going anywhere, despite another report this week that he shared details of a planned U-S strike with his relatives on a mobile app. The second Signal chat is in addition to the one Hegseth used to communicate with Cabinet officials last month about military plans. That chat is under investigation by the Defense Department’s acting inspector general.

1. Collections will start next month on student loans that are in default. After a five-year hiatus, the U.S. Department of Education says it will resume collections on May 5th. Those in default on student loans can expect an email soon urging them to make a payment or enroll in a re-payment play.

2. New vaccine recommendations for measles, mumps and rubella. According to the CDC, as of April 17, there are 800 confirmed measles cases in 25 states, with 600 of those cases in Texas. There are NO confirmed cases in Wisconsin.

3. As the church mourns the passing of Pope Francis the process begins to choose his successor. All cardinals eligible to participate in the Conclave will be summoned to Rome. Of 252 cardinals,135 are eligible. That makes this the largest and most diverse Conclave on record! Former Milwaukee Archbishop Timothy Dolan is one of several cardinals from the U.S. eligible to vote in the conclave. He also voted in the 20-13 conclave, following the resignation of former Pope Benedict. Cardinal Dolan is also on some lists of candidates to be the next Pope.
