JP and I find ourselves in what feels like the hardest season of parenting we’ve had. Between our eldest getting ready for college, and our three other children becoming more and more busy as they get older, it feels like we’re in a period of crescendo as a family… a crescendo that might not quiet down for a couple of years.
Within all of this, my marriage with JP feels as aligned and strong as it’s ever been, and for that I’m so grateful. Today JP joins me to explore what’s helped us gain such good alignment with each other in a season where the opposite could’ve absolutely been the case.
Today on WithIn:
Why are mid-life women often ‘quiet quitting’ their marriages
What we gain when we can be vulnerable with our partner
Parenting young adults: is this the hardest season of parenting?
My shifting parenting priorities and how they’ve strengthened connections with my kids
Facing the reality of our oldest leaving the nest soon
How JP and I are supporting each other during this intense season of parenting

I posted a reel last week about how I parent teens as a sober mom, and it led to a lot of important questions popping up in my DMs: Do my kids drink? What are my rules around drinking? Do I talk to my kids about alcohol?
So, pull up a chair because today we’re talking all about sobriety, drinking, and how I talk to my kids about it all.
Today on WithIn:
My sobriety story - almost 6 years in
Navigating other people’s comments and feelings about my sobriety
Parenting teens through the lens of sobriety
How I relieve stress and pain without alcohol present
Your list of five personal supports
This October, I’m hosting a women’s retreat at CIVANA in Arizona—a deep reset for women who are craving some space away from the noise of everyday life to reconnect with themselves. It’s three days to slow down, listen inward, and come back to the parts of you that can so easily get buried beneath everything you carry for everyone else. As a special invitation to the WithIn community, podcast listeners will receive $500 off their stay with the code “WITHIN” at checkout.

There are so many things in midlife that feel ungrounding. Our bodies are changing in wildly uncomfortable ways. Our children are getting older (and maybe leaving the nest). We’re facing the reality of aging parents. And then there’s something that I hear so many women speak about: a persistent midlife itch that there is something more for us. A next chapter. A new calling. Yet, what exactly that ‘new thing’ is rarely feels clear. So today, we’re going to talk about it:
Today on WithIn:
Why ‘what’s next’ doesn’t have to be a huge change, but can come in smaller shifts
The importance of ‘sitting in the gray area’ of life
Marking the grief that comes with ‘ambiguous losses’ or impermanence in life
What should drive you? Prioritizing how you want to feel
How nervous system regulation and mindfulness can aid midlife transitions
Where to find support (and who not to listen to) when you’re exploring what’s next
How are you facing a gray area in your life? DM me to tell me about it!

Jaemi Pierson is one of the most inspiring people I follow on Instagram, so I had to bring her wisdom straight to you on WithIn!
Jaemi is a high performance mindset coach and the creator of Her Empowered Mind. At 46, she walked away from a 20+ year career in the corporate world when she realized that society’s definition of success was not bringing her joy. She knew there must be more to life, and so she set out on a path to find it with only one idea of where to start - on Instagram - despite never having posted publicly on social media before.
Today on WithIn, Jaemi shares:
How she transitioned from corporate to entrepreneurship, despite believing that she ‘would never be an entrepreneur’.
Jaemi’s definition of success, and how it has has changed through this experience
Her experience of going from a private social media free life to sharing publicly everyday
What is identity work?
Jaemi’s tools and how they have each changed her life: Hypnotherapy, guided visualization, and unguided meditation

Last week I found myself in my closet, overcome by a heavy bout of The Sunday Scaries - It wasn’t anxiety about the approaching Monday, but anxiety about the entire fall season. After a beautiful summer focused on my family, the realities of the fall felt like too much to face.
I know I’m not alone, so today we’re going to talk all about anxiety. What anxiety is (and is not), how to address anxiety through both your body and mind, and a reminder that you are more than enough to face any challenge that comes your way.
Today on WithIn:
The overwhelm that can come with starting life back up after a pause
You anxiety is a check engine light
Tactics to address your anxiety that you can begin right now
The truth your anxiety will never tell you: you are capable and supported

Nothing has changed my life more than meditation, and I truly believe that this can be true for anyone. In fact, as cheesy as it sounds, I believe that meditation is key to changing the world through changing ourselves.
Today on WithIn, I’ll share how meditation changed my life, what my meditation practice looks like today, and the first step you can take to introduce a meditation practice into your life… starting at less than 10 minutes a day.
Stay tuned until the end of the episode for a special meditation I created just for you.
