  • Spirituality Beyond Religion: How I Found My Faith Outside of the Church

Throughout much of my life, the Catholic church served as a foundation. I was raised in the church, married in the church, and I always envisioned that I would raise my children in the church. Yet, life doesn’t always turn out the way we expect.

Today, I’ll share how my child’s journey with their identity led me to realize how my own views differed from the Catholic church’s teachings, and the moment it became clear that it was time to step away from the church. I’ll also share how my relationship with God has deepened since then, and how we now view faith as a family.

    Today on WithIn:

    • How my relationship with the Catholic church changed through my life
    • The experience that led me to step away from the Catholic church
    • My relationship with God and spirituality outside of organized religion
    • What religion and spirituality now look like in my family
    • The similarities and differences between prayer and meditation

      • Evolving in Partnership: A Conversation with My Partner, JP

Intimate relationships play such an important role in the decisions we make and the ways in which we evolve in our lives. I feel this deeply in my relationship with JP, my partner of twenty years. JP and I have witnessed each other go through so many evolutions. Honestly, we have both changed so much that we hardly resemble the people we were when we met.

I believe that this type of co-evolution is such a gift. However, it also comes with challenges. Today, we’ll discuss the challenges, opportunities, and learnings that have arisen as we’ve grown and changed alongside each other, and how we evolved into a brand new partnership that serves us both more deeply than ever before.

        Today on WithIn:

        • The first impressions JP and I had of each other when we met
        • How our relationship has evolved over almost twenty years
        • The ways in which new commitments to sobriety and personal development have altered our relationship

Sometimes you just need to take a break from the heavy topics of the day and laugh with someone you love. Today, my amazing sister, Lindsey Beal, joins me on the podcast to do just that! We’ll have a lighthearted chat about her IVF and sobriety journeys, her outlook on relationships and friendships, and even how our own relationship as sisters has changed and grown over the years.

Lindsey’s path to starting a family might look a little bit unique: she is single, 43 years old, and building a family completely on her own terms. I am so proud of her and grateful that she is sharing her story with you today!

                • Ep. 18 | I’m Not Anti “Wellness”....Well, Maybe a Little

“We have more 'wellness' available to us than ever before. More wellness influencers, podcasts and books - yet I don’t know one woman who is truly well,”

Do you? Between the women I work with online, to the women in my real life, I don’t know anyone who isn’t struggling in some way, either physically or mentally.  Yet we have more “wellness” available to us than ever before. Today on the show, I’m stepping back and asking the bigger question around wellness culture, why we’re not genuinely feeling well, and what we can do about it.  You, me, and women everywhere are not broken, but the systems we’re living in are. It’s time for a liberation.

                  Today on WithIn:

                  • The unexpected path I took to find myself within the wellness industry
                  • How I came to realize that what I needed wasn’t more ‘wellness’
                  • The paradox that the wellness industry sells us
                  • How systems of oppression affect our wellness and how we can break free
                  • Embracing authenticity in a filtered world
