** CW // alcoholism and addiction **
In this episode we’re speaking with actor, writer, producer, director, and avid mental-health & substance-abuse recovery advocate Anthony Carvello!
Anthony grew up outside of Boston and had dreams of becoming a sports agent - aka the real-life “Jerry Maguire.” Shortly after moving to NYC, he pivoted into tech sales, eventually becoming the VP at a corporate firm. A few years in, he took an improv class which led to the domino effect of falling in love with acting and eventually quitting his corporate career to pursue it full-time. You can catch Anthony in the third season of “Ramy” on Hulu and portraying actor-assassin John Wilkes Booth in the Emmy-Winning CNN series "Lincoln: Divided We Stand.” Most of all, Anthony identifies as a grateful recovering alcoholic who began his sober journey on August 7th, 2017.
In this episode we discuss Anthony’s recovery journey, his move from a corporate career to an artistic passion, and the role his spirituality and emotional recovery play in his life today.
