OR The So Many Great Ladies We Know Can’t Find Someone to Date Show
This is something we need to talk about, but wish we didn’t. There are so many women we know that are having a terrible time in their love lives. No, it’s not everything. They have full, amazing lives of their own but these ladies want and deserve a loving, equal partner in life. Where are the kind, loving, present men who follow through? (But really, call me.) We talk through ghosting, and how often it’s happening, sometimes six weeks in and sometimes right after the first date. And speaking of dates, did you know that Tinder Thumb was a thing? Me either. Dating is a numbers game, but how much do you want to put up with in order to get to your #1?

In episode 31, Jenn rejoins Kate and the land of the living to chat about the CrossFit Level 1 training over the weekend and Kate shares thoughts about her first couple of weeks at Solcana CrossFit. GYM BUDDIES! And, of course things take a turn when the gals introduce “dick strep” to the world. It may not yet be a real medical condition but Jenn’s convinced it should be. You’ll have to listen to understand why. As always, Kate has great recommendations on choosing a doctor and complementary care (just adopt Jenn as your adult child, please). Lastly, we just had to discuss Magic Mike XXL. Go see it. Not a lot of talking, just the way we like it. PARTY!

This week we have a special guest cohost, Kate’s lifelong friend, the gorgeous and glorious Dayna Myos! They’ve been friends since childhood and lived together in college, so stories. Dayna is filling in for Jenn while she recovers from strep throat. GWS JENN! Dayna is a tennis player and tall glass of water as well as single and looking for just the right gentleman. Fellas. Dayna just finished a 14-day detox after a spring of travel and some indulgence. She’s on a longer wellness journey as well, tuning into food sensitivities and trying new workouts and working with a personal trainer. Being an avid tennis player, we talk through the traditions of Wimbledon and how conveniently it falls on American Independence Day, making Dayna, who intensely dislikes fireworks, realize she’ll travel to see it live next year over the holiday. CONVENIENT. Speaking of travel, we talk through the pros and cons of leasing vs. buying cars as we are both in the market. We decide to go on a day of test drives together, which may or not be a future episode. Then: we wrangle our Tweets of the week. Good job, Dayna! And thanks for stepping in, hot stepper.

In this episode, Jenn and Kate chat about time management (yes, Jenn was her usual 10 minutes late arriving today). Just like always, Kate sheds gentle light on her experiences with self-care and gives insight to some tools and tricks she uses to be successful in accomplishing her daily tasks while Jenn tries to figure out where she left the copy of Time Management for Dummies she was so kindly gifted for Christmas.

Bikes are our first topic this week. We talk first bikes, getting back in the saddle, and Kate’s Dad being the Grandfather of Minneapolis Cycling. We get in to the independence they create in our lives, as well as recommendations for getting good bikes routes to the places you regularly go and a super cycling podcast. Kate went to a class at Solcana CrossFit last week, loved it, and is starting as a member this week WHAT WHAT. The test class was a humbling experience in the best possible way and left her wanting more. We wrap up this week giving recommendations for our favorite sunscreens and the importance of covering yourself for incidental exposure. Then, our favorite tweets of this week as the icing on the cake. Kate goes serious, Jenn goes funny. It’s not called XOXOJK for nothing, folks.

IT’S SUMMER! The days are long and filled with sun, and Jenn and Kate chat about all the things they love about Minnesota’s most coveted season. In episode 27, the gals discuss summer goals, what to wear on faces and bodies (KATE TALKS JENN DOWN ABOUT DRESS ANXIETY!), and of course, the most important summer issue: chub rub. Grab your sunscreen, a cocktail, and your handheld fan and give it a listen.

WE’RE BACK! After a short hiatus we’re feeling great to be back in the studio. This week, we talk about my move and remodel, Jenn’s new job and her one-year anniversary at Solcana CrossFit. We also dive into spending time alone and introversion versus extroversion (and being mistaken as one when you are the other). Then, the ever popular tweets of the week. Whew! WE DID IT. Enjoy.

You’re only as strong as the hairspray you use. Live colorfully or dye trying. The higher the hair, the closer to God. You guessed it, kids. This week Kate and Jenn talk about hair. Not the American tribal love-rock musical, but like, the stuff that grows on your head (and body). Best and worst haircuts, dye jobs, products, style tips, BANGS, and everyone’s favorite: greys. As in hair, not anatomy (we can’t believe it’s still on tv, either). As always, listen and weight in with your thoughts/tips/styles with us on our Facebook page.

Kate’s move and remodel are taking over her life — in a good way. We talk about the transitions and strangeness surrounding buying a new house and then — moving to it.
After around a year of what can only be described as peril, Jenn QUIT HER JOB YESSSSS. She found a better fit for more money that’s closer to home. Perfection? Pretty damn close. Kate presented at her alma mater at MinneWebCon causing all sorts of feelings. Did we mention her talk was called Not Wearing Pants? And finally, we discuss Bruce Jenner, the interview, his bravery and transgender issues, including how to increase your own awareness. Thanks for listening, and if you have a chance, rate us on iTunes.

In Episode 23 of XOXOJK, which henceforth, will be known as The Sex Show, we talk about birth control, The Talk, first times, preferences, fears, empowerment, and SO IMPORTANT!: asking for what you want. Anatomy plays into the mix and we talk about how little we knew about our bodies back then because we had no Google. We observe how we took the lead to make our sex lives better and tell ALL THE STORIES. We hope you enjoy it and please chime in on the XOXOJK Facebook Page. YOU’RE THE BEST.
